Highlander Season 5 powered by BlackOut Gaming: Rule Updates and Divisions Released!

Date October 26, 2013

Rule Updates

A Rule Change that have been put into place to allow Highlander and 6v6 Rules more similar.

1. Wildcards
S4: Wildcarded matches may not be wildcarded again.
S5: If one team has already wildcarded a match, the other team can also wildcard it if they have a wildcard available. Matches cannot be wildcarded more than once per team.

And another rule related to class limits

2.1.1 Gamemode: 9on9, classlimit 1

The Highlander gamemode is played 9on9 with a general classlimit of 1. While classlimit 1 is not forced by the config, teams are expected to follow the classlimit at all times during the game. The only allowed case of swapping class is to forward spawn. Any other case can be punished depending on the circumstances.

An example of how the above can be abused can be found here. However there are various situations in which this can abused.

Final Divisions Released

The Final Divisions have been released, you can find them here.

Please also note that any teams without 9 players on the 29th October could be dropped from Highlander Season 5. Make sure you have 9 players!

Every team with less than 9 players by Monday 28th may get replaced. Please make sure you have enough players in your roster by this time.

Season 16 Powered by BlackOut Gaming: The Last Resort vs Reverto

Two premiership matches tonight, the first being a contest between International The Last Resort and European REVERTO. The promoted European REVERTO have been doing really well in the season, finally losing their first game against France Awsomniac in a rather close contest. International The Last Resort on the other hand won against the Frenchies, in an equally close contest. With not much between them and some very needed points up for grabs, we could be in for a close one.

Highlander Season 5 Signups Reminder… and Medals!

Date October 24, 2013

Highlander Season 5 Signups Close Tonight

As a reminder, the deadline for Highlander Season 5 signups is tonight! You can still sign up afterwards, but your team will not be guaranteed a spot in the season.

Did someone say Medals?

Music is playing in the streets and strangers are hugging each other with tears streaming down their cheeks – the long-lost medals have arrived!

With some apt apologies for the delay, the batch of medals for 6v6 Season 14 and Highlander Season 4 have finally been distributed!

Every eligible player receives a participation medal. Additionally, if your team won its division, you will be awarded a group winner medal as well. For the Premiership Divisions, the top 3 teams are awarded a gold, silver or bronze medal, in addition to the participation medal.

Important note: Medals were handed out to players who were on an eligible team’s roster when each competition’s rosters locked. If you left your team earlier, you have not been awarded a medal by default. If you believe you have heavily contributed to a team’s success but ended up outside its roster on the final day, or you were on a team’s roster but did not receive a medal, you can still apply for an exception by contacting us and providing the following information:

  • Your ETF2L user profile
  • The season you are missing a medal for
  • The team you played with in that season
  • If you were not on the team’s roster when rosters locked: why do you deserve to receive a medal for that season?

Please note that this applies to 9v9 Season 4 and 6v6 Season 14 only. 6v6 Season 15 medals are still pending distribution.

Season 16 Powered by Blackout Gaming: 4-25 vs Hovercrabs

Season 16 powered by BlackOut Gaming

Season 16 Powered by BlackOut Gaming:  4-25 vs Hovercrabs

In what could be an incredibly interesting fixture out of Div 1, Russia 4-25 face Russia HoverCrabs in a game that could contribute to a promotion spot. 4-25 were lauded for a premiership spot at the beginning of the season, but after both teams being shown up by European d-d-Did I Stutter? this game looks a lot closer and could swing either way depending on how each side turns up.
