Winter time starts this Sunday

All countries that observe Daylight Saving Time will be winding their clocks back one hour in the morning of this Sunday, October 27th.

If you live in a country that does not observe Daylight Savings Time, then from this Sunday onwards, you will be playing one hour later than before.

Any ETF2L dates scheduled to October 27th or later are automatically translated from CEST to CET (-1 hour). Please keep this in mind when proposing dates to this Sunday or later – your proposed date will be treated as CEST and reduced by 1 hour after submitting.

We recommend clarifying the exact time in match comments to prevent misunderstandings.

To summarize:

• If you want to play at 21:00 CEST on Saturday, October 26th or earlier, enter 21:00 when submitting the proposal.
• If you want to play at 21:00 CET on Sunday, October 27th or later and submit the proposal before the switch to Winter time, enter 22:00 when submitting the proposal.
• If you want to play at 21:00 CET on Sunday, October 27th or later and submit the proposal after the switch to Winter time, enter 21:00 when submitting the proposal.

It’s time for another season of Highlander –  supported once again by the wonderful BlackOut Gaming community! Please swing by on one of their servers next time you are looking for a fun public gaming session. We have some changes in store for Season 5 to be announced in upcoming newsposts – today we’ll start off with the prizes, weapon banlist and provisional map schedule for the season.

Signups will open Sunday 13th October and close Thursday 24th October at 23:59 CEST.

Sign-up process

Make sure to choose your desired division when signing up. If you created a new team or feel you can jump a division, feel free to apply for the division you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the division you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for. The quantity is not the most important factor in this case, it’s more of a helpful measure for us to figure out if your team will be able to keep up with the pace. There is no magical, minimum or maximum number of screenshots that you have to submit.

Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the division you aim for. Established teams will be favoured over new teams or teams that request to jump a division. The screenshots have to be uploaded to an online image storage service (for example, you can use imgur or Dropbox). Keep in mind that if you opt for a zipped archives with tons of pictures attached to an e-mail, your application will be ignored. Keep it clean.

If you are applying for Division 6 (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level. This only applies to Division 5 or higher.

• Do not use HTML in your e-mail. If you want to add a link, just paste the link in the e-mail as you would enter it in your browser.

• Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the division you applied for (optional)

ETF2L Season 5 will use the same unlock banlist as the Highlander Nations Cup #2.

Please note that this is a provisional map list and may undergo changes based on user feedback. Teams are invited to discuss the maplist and provide constructive feedback in this thread.

Prizes

The Season 5 Premiership teams play for their share of the total cash prize of €1,000, generously provided by BlackOut Gaming. The distribution is as follows:

• Premiership winner: €500
•  Premiership runner-up: €350
•  Premiership third place: €150

As in previous seasons and thanks to Valve Software and Ruskeydoo, players in all divisions will receive in-game medals for winning the group, as well as participation medals for finishing the season. The Premiership Division will have gold, silver and bronze medals for the first three places.

In the first match tonight The Last Resort face TCM Gaming. byte‘s boys are in a desparate need of points tonight. They find themselves against The Last Resort, who even amidst roster difficulties have been able to pick up nine points, and will be sure to not give up a single point without a fight.
