Season 21 powered by Tt eSPORTS: Maps & Map Rotation

The polls are closed, the results are in. Let’s get right to it. We will not see cp_logjam in Season 21 again. Neither will we see cp_metalworks making a comeback. So the only question left to be answered is: Which cp_granary will it be? The answer is the original one. While we think it would not have hurt to try the pro version with all its little tweaks and fixes we can also see arguments for the original one, like not drifting even further away from the stock maps played on pubs for example.

This results in the following maps and map rotation:

Edit: More about Unlocks hopefully tomorrow.

Season 21 powered by Tt eSPORTS: Premiership Playoffs

Nine teams signed up for the Premier Division, nine teams is one team too many. Therefore two of those nine teams them will have to play for the 8th spot in the Premier Division on:

Thursday, May 14th 21:15CET.

The two teams are Denmark LEGO and European Revoluzion la metagame.

Staff Update

The Germans are starting to lose some serious ground as Germany JohnnyBambo decided to leave the staff as well to focus on his dissertation. We thank him for over two years of service and all the work he put in and wish him the best of luck in the future.

Recruiting 6s League Admins

Germany JohnnyBambo leaving rips a gap in the already thin 6s admin department, which needs to be filled with one or maybe two new admins, as a result we are once again looking for volunteers to help run and maintain the league.

Among other things league admins take admin requests on IRC, deal with match conflicts, handle the setting of Default Dates and the verification of played matches. They also create and oversee cups.

With the change to the swiss system setting Default Dates does not create as much of a task as it used to do, since a notable portion of it is now automated. On the other hand dealing with match conflicts has become a task that has to be adressed in a more timely fashion. Additionally providing support during match times has grown in importance, therefore we cannot really employ admins who have team commitments every four to five times per week (especially but not limited to Thursdays). Same goes for creating and overseeing cups. It is always easier said than done, having the idea and setting up a cup is only a small part of actually running a cup. Being there when the cup is under way, providing match support, adressing conflicts, lending out servers, seeding further rounds, verifying finished matches and many more tasks have to be handled, while possibly over 100 matches are going on simultaneously, you may not be alone, but you will be part of it.

Also something we want to adress is our interest in self-managed admins, we will not take you by the hand and lead you through everything there is to do. YOU have to show interest, YOU have to ask what you can do, YOU have to prove you really want to be an admin. There are plenty of admins around almost all the time, who are happy to help you and show you the ropes, but at some point routines will have to be dealt with without someone telling you that they need to be done. At the same time, communicating with other admins is very imporant, to avoid certain tasks being done twice, conflicting results in decisions or even decisions overwriting previous ones.

If you are interested in supporting the administrative backbone for the league, you should also check out the details on the respective application page, this will tell you which information we need from you at the very least. With an emphasis on THE VERY LEAST. Additionally this general page may provide you with some more information.

Season 21 powered by Tt ESPORTS Showmatch

Date May 11, 2015

banner-s21-v1_595x

After Season 20 ended we have all had some time to rest and recuperate. Some have spent this time playing Highlander, others toiling for medals in the Ultiduo cup or honing their scout 1v1 skills. But now it’s prime time for season 21 to kick into action and if you for some reason are feeling unhyped here is your cure, a glimpse at what the Premiership will have to offer. That’s right it’s Showmatch time.

So who are going to be facing each other in this game? Returning from last season’s third place are European Se7en. With an intact roster, UnitedKingdom kaidus and his boys are poised to soar high this season and are no doubt looking to put the early pressure on by claiming this victory.

But rising like a phoenix from the ashes of European Ze Knutsson Rollerbladers and France Awsomniac to knock European Se7en out of the air is European nerdRage.tf2, half Rollerbladers and half Frenchies. UnitedKingdom Starkie has formed a team of players with the common goal of taking home Season 21 and this is the first hurdle.

Tune in at 21:15 CET for some Season 21 hype:

Highlander Season 8 Powered by Tt eSPORTS: PremTech vs Tourettes Chessclub & Stacked vs WASP @21CET

Date May 10, 2015

banner-hls8-v3sponsors_40

You read the title correctly folks – it’s a Highlander double header! The regular season comes to a close with two mouth-watering games casted for you by the folks at BlackOut TV on two channels from 21CETWatch them together here.

On BlackOut TV will be Spain CeeJaey, UnitedKingdom Bulow & England Jon on production hosting the big one – European PremTech vs European Tourettes Chessclub.

Finland BAITO‘s gang currently sit just below European Highpander© in the table, and only 6 points will be enough to take them above England Hildreth‘s team and secure a spot in the Grand Final. After the loss of Sweden Ascendary to Guild Wars 2, European Steve! will be stepping in to merc Pyro. Latvia atomic- and Latvia uubers will be looking to get one over on their previous team after the Baltic exodus from Chess at the end of last season and leave their former teammates as the third seed in the playoffs. With European PremTech going from strength to strength in the previous weeks and managing to split the points with European Highpander© in week 2, Finland BAITO will be confident of leading his team to victory on Steel tonight.

Meanwhile European Tourettes Chessclub have lost their own Pyro and leader Denmark Scissors in mysterious circumstances and will be turning to Poland Lex as their default merc. This is the latest spanner in the works after the unprecedented loss of a map to Russia WASP last week, and they could well be left feeling vulnerable tonight, especially with a huge percentage of bets on Saloon.tf placed on their opponents. The rest of the roster, however, is still as strong as it gets: UnitedKingdom BreakfasT_Jr remains the undisputed King of wasting large amounts of money on ammunition, while Norway Lazybear has been on fire since his return to Highlander – and with Sweden ondkaja stepping in to fill the role of team leader, the potential for out-stratting is strong on the tactical wonderland that is Steel.

Simultaneously on BlackOut TV 2 you can catch Norway Heavy Is GPS & UnitedStates sigafoo covering Ireland Stacked vs. Russia WASP. With both teams safe from relegation and out of the running for playoffs, this match is all about pride.

The Russians have exceeded all expectations in their first season in Prem – after being written off alongside their countrymen Russia Unpoppable and the politically challenged UnitedKingdom UKIP, they rolled over both of them in officials and even managed to steal Golden Cap points from European Highpander© and a map from European Tourettes Chessclub. Strong play from the likes of Russia Forsak3n, Russia Crow‾ and Russia m0rg (backed up by the occasional appearance of Russia ShaDowBurn as a merc) and their long history as a team have set them up to continue their fine work in next season’s Premiership division and it would be foolish to rule out the possibility of a victory tonight.

Ireland Stacked sit above their opponents tonight in the table but will be far less satisfied with how the season has gone. Looking like true title contenders pre-season, the latest catastrophe to befall them was dropping a map to Russia Unpoppable (and the fearsome Russia Forsak3n & Russia ShaDowBurn flank) last week while missing a hefty chunk of that oh-so-strong-looking roster. Their chances of getting a result tonight depend heavily on how many players will actually turn up, but if their full roster turns out with a point to prove then a win is definitely on the cards. Look for Belgium droso to contest the Sniper war fiercely and France Hidan to pump out huge damage on Demo.
