We’ve got one of the best games of the whole cup lined up for all tonight! Join in with Hildreth, sigafoo & Jon on BlackOut TV for Ace‘s band of brothers from Norway are now head-to-head against the Kresnik-lead roster of United States of America in Round 3 of the Groups stage! This match will decide who will get 1st and 2nd seed in the Playoffs stage from this group.

Both these teams performed admirably last year with  Norway reaching all the way to the Bronze Final against Finland after being knocked from a chance at the Grand Final by England. The same story played out for United States of America as they were stopped in their tracks in the Quarter Finals by the limeys too. On paper then, these two teams seem equally matched but with revised rosters from both sides, could we see one overcome the other? Tune in at 19:45 CEST to find out!

The groups have been released and all matches have been set to the respective times. Make sure to play them on time. If you have a dropped team, in your group, just disregard all matches against that team. We’re looking to fill all gaps with waiting teams, but there’s only so much we can do. Sorry. Make sure to check shortly before the appointed match time, if any dropped teams have been replaced! Or possible if one of the groups that was still missing a team got one to fill it up. We will not replace/add any teams after 19:00CEST . If you want to be on the waiting list, just sign up – you’ll be put on it automatically.

Schedule

We will divide the cup into a couple of weeks. One for group stages, one for knockout and the finals. Each group will contain 5 teams playing on the default dates shown below. These dates can get moved around within the week by contacting your opponent and asking them to reschedule.

Week 1 August 11th – August 16th

Tuesday, August 11th – Group Stage

Thursday, August 13th – Group Stage

All Group Stage matches have to be played until August 16th 23:59 CEST at the latest!

Tuesday, August 18th – Knockout Stage

Depending the number of singups, we will decide whether 32 or 16 teams advance to the Knockout Stage. In case of 16 teams, the Quarter-Finals will be held on Tuesday, August 18th 21:00 CEST.

Rules

This will be largely the same as Season 21’s rules with some minor additions or changes.

Cup-specific rules:

• Picking up weapons is allowed (yes, including mediguns!)
• On cp_well players are allowed to deal damage during setup, while staying on their side or by standing on the train separating both sides.

Season 21 powered by Tt eSPORTS – Wrap-up

Often one of the most competitive seasons of the ETF2L calendar, the pre-insomnia season didn’t disappoint yet again. All top 3 teams were evenly matched throughout however it was Se7en who prevailed in the playoffs claiming the Season 21 title and securing themselves €500 in the process.
