Clarification: This is unrelated to the ETF2L Highlander Season 11 Playoffs or any ETF2L Competition, it is an independent event hosted by BlackOut TV

It’s this time of the year, folks!

No, not the US presidential election. Although it does have slightly better memes than TF2 community. ETF2L Highlander Season 11 is upon us and that means it’s time for another edition of a HL Invitational Cup (the first one to be hosted by BlackOut TV) with 8 of the juiciest teams in Europe set to participate!

Starting from 16:00 CET on Sunday 30th of October tune in to BlackOutGamingTV for a double-stream action with sigafoo,  jakeowaty, Heavy Is GPS and a surprise caster once feared and respected as the more formidable of the two Irish medics but who is now drinking his life away somewhere in the Westport countryside.

Oh, what’s that again? „What is the prizepool?” you ask? Excuse me, lady, we’re in 2016 and it’s a highlander of all things we’re talking about, there’s no such thing as „prizes”!

On a good note though, there are still nice people in this forsaken land of a gamemode and chando and  Firefly were kind enough to donate 40 British Pounds for the cup winner on Sunday.

But wait! Not only that, BlackOut TV is running a donation fund that can be found here and without a single bit of promotion at the moment of writing it already stands at 33 Mann Co. Keys that will be spread between the Top 3 finishers as shown below:

1st: 150 British Pounds + items donations
2nd: 50 pounds + items donations
3rd: items donations

UPDATE: We received donations of 50 Pounds from both Cronk and Kuferl  which will be given to the cup winner making it 140 pounds in total. Big thanks to them!

The scrap.tf fund is open until the very end of the tournament. Everyone who contributes will receive a shoutout on stream and their nickname written in the ending credits after the Grand Finals. The playoffs for Highlander Season 11 powered by Tt eSPORTS will start with a best of 3 between Budget Toucans and Tourettes Chessclub, the winner will proceed be granted a spot in premiership, the loser will be granted first seed in the following double elimination bracket. The full bracket can be seen here.

After the preliminary round a double elimination bracket of best of threes between the following teams will take place:

• Stacked

The map pool for Highlander Season 11 powered by Tt eSPORTS will be as follows, the changes from season 10 are that pl_barnblitz has been removed with koth_warmtic_rc4 and koth_coalplant_b7 added. This will mean that one of the weeks in the season will consist of two king of the hill maps.

• Week 2:  cp_gullywash_final1 + koth_lakeside_final
• Week 3: pl_borneo
• Week 4: koth_coalplant_b7 + cp_process_final
• Week 5: cp_steel
• Week 6: koth_warmtic_rc4 + koth_product_rc8
• Week 7: pl_badwater

The whitelist for the Season can be found here. The changes from Season 10 are the addition of the phlogistiator and the removal of the dead ringer and the short circuit.

This map pool and whitelist will be used in the preseason playoffs as well as the regular season.

A reminder that the deadline for signups is October 25th at 21:00 CEST for teams wanting to play in the premiership and on October 28th at 21:00 CEST for all other tiers, click here to signup

The groups and fixtures for The Experimental Highlander One-Night-Cup #8 are released, they can be found under the competitions tab.

The whitelist for the cup can be found here and can be manually set on a server running TFTrue using the command rcon tftrue_whitelist_id etf2l_9v9_s11 .

The correct version of the map is cp_hadal_b9a and should be run on a stopwatch config is a bo2 format.

Banner Contest

The banner contest is still open for Highlander Season 11. Your artwork could be featured on our hub page, as well as every newspost related to Season 11 on our Facebook page and every official post related to it.
Here is what you have to do:

• Create a banner with the dimensions 590×295
• Include our and our sponsor’s logos which can be found here
• Send your creation to staff@etf2l.org and put “[ETF2L] S11 banner contest” as subject
• Send it to the above mentioned email until October 25th 23:59

If we will choose your banner to be the official Season 11 banner, please be ready to modify it if need be, e.g. if more sponsors get added. If your banner is not chosen to be used for Season 11, we may get back to you in one of the following seasons.
