Is it really that time again? IS THIS REAL!?! Oh boy you bloody bet! Welcome to ETF2L’s 11th Highlander Season and welcome to a double casting bill featuring 4 teams from the top of Premiership!

Game 1: BlackOut TV 1 – This is the blockbuster of Week 1, our returning champs Strong Opinions are rocking up on their gold-encrusted flotilla decorated with a Season 10 victory ready to take on a familiar yet recently absent Tourettes Chessclub roster. These bunch of pieces are making a comeback after skipping out on Season 10 with a revitalised roster featuring some very recognisable faces. It seems that the Chessclublians don’t appreciate Strong Opinions‘ winning streak, could they be the force to knock down the two-time champs and beat them to it for a triple Premiership victory? Game 2: BlackOut TV 2 – This one is stirring up excitement for all. On one side we have The Bureau, 3rd place runners up in Season 10 losing out to Fair Enough who slipped into 2nd. On the other half is Budget Toucans, TOUCAN! (sorry). These lovely bunch of birds landed themselves into Premiership after coming 2nd in High of last season and finishing the Pre-Season playoffs of last week. I’m struggling to call this one so you’ll just have to watch it to see who comes out victorious! Tune in on BlackOut TV 2 with Heavy Is GPS & sigafoo from 21:15 CET to find out!

Wake me up when October ends! Why you ask? Because now it is Highlander time and we have a whole hosts of changes in the scene to reflect on and look forward to. Strong Opinions are looking for a 3rd straight title to equal SNSD’s record. Without Highpander or Fair Enough to stand in their way, to the unitiated it may seem like a formality. But it isn’t a straight forward formality for the DeutschLAN winners as we will see the remergance of old names Chessclub (who themselves are seeking a third title) Stacked and GANG (formerly PremTech). You would be a fool to discount SDCK and The Bureau as well as new boys Budget Toucans and XDCK.

Broadcasted live on BlackOut TV, fresh from the afterlife, former Highlander royalty Hildreth will host the show this Friday at 21:00 CET, with Jon on the stream. Guests will include CeeJaey (Strong Opinions), sp (SDCK), Chronos (The Bureau), Maccy (Budget Toucans) and DCS to represent ETF2L.

Topics will include a review of the preseason with playoffs, competitions and rosters as well as looking ahead to this season, predictions and a look at this seasons rules and unlocks.

The final week is here and there are still 3 matches to be played. We’ll be flying right into it.

After discussion both internally and with premiership players we are adding the dead ringer to our whitelist, this means that the dead ringer will not be banned in Highlander Season 11. The whitelist can be viewed on whitelist.tf.

We have also made the decision that players with High experience are not allowed to default merc in mid/high only players with mid or less, to be considered of a divisions experience you must have played 3 or more officials in the last 3 seasons or any matches in the current season. For Season 11 this will mean matches from seasons 8, 9, and 10 will be considered as well as 6v6 Season 22, 23, 24, and 25.

Due to the limited signups we’ve merged High and Mid to get a better working group for Swiss. We’ll be using accelerated pairing to make the first couple of weeks fair.
