The fixtures for Winter Map Cup sponsored by Serveme.tf are now released and can be seen here along with the groups.

The knockout section of the cup will vary slightly between tiers.

The Premiership and High groups will have all teams advance from the group stage in a bracket with the group being used to determine seeding. As there will be only semi finals and finals these tiers will be completed by Saturday with Semi finals at 19:00 and finals at 21:00.

For Mid and Open each group consists of 3 teams with the top two advancing to playoffs.

Mid playoffs will take place on Saturday at 19:00 and 21:00 with the finals at Sunday 21:00. The Open bracket will take place at 19:00 and 21:00 on both Saturday and Sunday.

The prizes for the premiership bracket have also been finalised.

 First Place: Two One year serveme.tf premium codes and One Six month premium code

 Second Place: One One year serveme.tf premium codes and Two Six month premium codes

 Third Place: Three Six month serveme.tf premium codes

If you’re looking to play some TF2 this weekend, but didn’t sign up for our Winter Map Cup, our friends at FACEIT are hosting the first of their EU Weekly Cups this Sunday, starting from 16:30 CET. Prizes announced so far are Keys for the top 3 teams, and FACEIT points for the top 8 teams.

TF2 has been a beta addition to FACEIT for around 6 months now, and has grown a decent ladder community with a thriving Discord server. Ladders are held daily and monthly, with points awarded to the top players. These points can be spent in the FACEIT shop on numerous in-game items, team merchandise and even hardware.

This Sunday’s cup, sponsored by champ.gg, is FACEIT’s first EU tournament, following last month’s Open Tournament for the US region. It’s the beginning of a weekly series, so these cups should be a great opportunity for our community to show our best side, and hopefully encourage FACEIT to continue investing time and resources into TF2.

Our friends at teamfortressTV will be streaming the cup as it unfolds on Sunday.

Signups are open until Thursday 8th 20:00 CET! Eligible to participate is any 6v6 or Fun team that has at least 6 players on the roster at the end of Signups. If the deadline has passed you may still be able to participate if the initial group have not been published.

The group stage of four teams per group will run on Friday 9th, with knockout stages on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th. The schedule of the knockout rounds may change if signup numbers require it

Friday 9th December.

• 19:00 CET: Round 1 on cp_drudgery_a15b
• 20:00 CET: Round 2 on koth_sandstone_pro_rc1
• 21:00 CET: Round 3 on cp_cardinal_b1a

All knockout rounds will be played on cp_cardinal and cp_drudgery with koth_sandstone_pro as the decider.

Saturday 10th December.

Sunday 11th December.

• 19:00 CET: Semifinals
• 21:00 CET: Finals

Teams will be seeded first come first serve. Signing up late just before the deadline will not guarantee your team a seed if there aren’t 3 other teams to create a bracket.

The 6v6 Season 25 rules apply in this cup, the Global Whitelist will be used.

In the Premiership group there will be prizes provided by serveme.tf, these will be revealed at a later date

Every 1st team of each tier will receive a pixel trophy on their team page.

So. Here it is. The Grand Final few were expecting, but will nontheless be a competitive fixture which may well add a final sting in the tail of a very, er, tail stinging season. After a shocking two-map victory over LEGO (admittedly without star scout .sorex), ComedyShortsGaming are looking to gain an even bigger scalp if they are to win one of the biggest upsets ever. However, more likely is that Se7en are to win yet another season, marking 4 seasons in a row (over a year) of straight prem victories. The roster has seen only one player remaining from that first win (in kaptain), but it is nontheless an incredible achievement, probably the most dominant a team has been since the legendary Epsilon squad.

amppis has been battling these various rosters for what seems like years now, and this would surely be the most unexpected season of all to beat them, but you can never discount Thanks Nursey/Sauna Slayers/Gender Confused as we learned in that lower-bracket upset only a few nights ago.
