As it usually is with Mondays, our minds are very consistent with denying the importance of focusing on the future rather than the weekend just gone. Fear not though – tonight we’ll have a chance to put those grim perspectives aside for a little while longer as two of the strongest teams in Europe shall perform some fisticuffs in a rather loud, yet still virtual manner. An impressive mix of TF2 veterans, BFF, who might or might not be best friends forever, will take on Team Decerto, being quite experienced themselves, who despite their rather unsuccessful start in Premiership work hard and move forward to prove their worth. With their long lasting commitment to the game, tonight’s match will be one of the many-to-come occasions to show that, contrary to a popular belief, Europeans still do care. Wireplay TF2 League Season 11 Signups

The Wireplay League has opened the signups for their 11th 6v6 league. The season will be run after ETF2L Season 13 to avoid collisions and make it possible to play even for teams who prefer not to play more than one match per week. In the coming weeks, the Wireplay site will undergo some improvements, check out what already has been done and sign up your team! The full schedule is as follows:

Highlander Showmatch VoDs

Yesterday’s cast of the ETF2L Highlander showmatch is now available to watch on the VanillaTV YouTube channel. If you prefer to chat with other viewers and are a night owl, you can tune in to the first ever VanillaTV restream tonight at 7PM CST and 11PM CST which converts into 03:00 CEST and 07:00 CEST.

As we build up to ETF2L’s 3rd season of Highlander, we like to do things fun to get the hype going so we’ve put together a little showmatch in the spirit of the NA v EU summer LAN showdown. Tonight on VanillaTV we have two of the world’s best going face to face for the sake of their own reputation. On the East side of the Atlantic, we have the the self-crowned “best” Highlander team in existence, SNSD who are looking to remain undefeated in 9v9 officials for another season in ETF2L and have willingly put their egos on the line to face what is probably their biggest test yet –  The Syndicate. These yanks are no ordinary team, they are a team of stacked superstars tipped by many to be equally as dominant in UGC Platinum as their roster boasts some of the best talent in the 9v9 format.

Tune in to VanillaTV at 21.15 CET or 15.15 EST if you’re American to see this unqiue spectacle hosted on a New York server so that pings can be as fair as possibly (both teams look to average 90-100 ping per player). Just to keep the Euro-American banter strong we have the ever patriotic  Salamancer  on the mic along with the Irish master of repartee, caster of the season Admirable along with highlander guru  Hildreth and the ever reliable and unsung hero of the community Comedian on the stream. The maps will be Highlander favourite Badwater, old classic Granary and Viaduct_Pro as a potential decider.

It’s time for another season of Highlander! We have a lot of changes in store for Season 3 to be announced in upcoming newsposts – today we’ll start off with the weapon banlist and provisional map schedule for the season.

Season 3 Unlocks

ETF2L Season 3 will now use the same banlist for unlocks as UGC Season 8, in order to improve experience for players involved in both leagues. The only difference between the two whitelists is the High-Five taunt – it remains banned in ETF2L, as it allows players to peek through walls on certain maps without the downsides associated with regular taunts.

Provisional map schedule

After much internal debate, we’ve arrived at the following provisional map list and week structure:

• Week 1: Badwater
• Week 2: Gravelpit
• Week 3: Upward
• Week 4: Lakeside + [Haunt]
• Week 5: [Swiftwater]

Please note that this is a provisional map list and may undergo changes based on user feedback. Teams are invited to discuss the maplist and provide constructive feedback in [this] thread.

Signups, schedule and changes to division structure will be announced on Monday. Stay tuned!

Season 13 Rule Reminder!

A reminder is in place for all teams actively participating in the 6v6 League’s Season 13. As you know well, our 6v6 ruleset has undergone substantial changes we employed in order to strengthen the organizational front. One of the changes, met with reserve from the players, was the requirement for matches to be played before the ongoing week’s deadline. Just a few days ago we updated our policy regarding deadline extensions to clarify on certain inaccuracies and doubts from the players regarding their ability to postpone matches. Keep in mind that if you are certain that you won’t be able to play your match in time, you should ask an admin for an extension as soon as possible. As of now, the related excerpt from Rule 1.9 – Late matches are not allowed stands as follows:

Teams may request an extension of the match deadline by 7 days by contacting an admin. An extension is granted if the following requirements are met:

– The match was scheduled by the teams within the schedule deadline or is still unscheduled. Matches that got a default date are not eligible for an extension. This point resets when a wildcard is used as it opens a new schedule timeframe.

– The extension is requested at least 24 hours before the initially scheduled time.

– Both teams must agree to the extension, either in the match comments or by accepting/proposing the new schedule.

If an extension is approved, the current schedule will be removed. A default date will be set for the match if the match is not scheduled by the following Monday to a day within the following play week’s match deadline. Matches without result one day after the deadline of the extension passed will lead to one minor warning for each team.

With approximately twenty out of 160 matches scheduled for next week we strongly urge the team leaders to get in touch with their upcoming week’s opponents and begin planning their next matches as the rule will be strictly enforced by the admins to ensure the season’s global deadlines are met.

Experimental Highlander Cup The Third – Wrap-Up!

And without further ado, let’s hop right into our post-event report on the third Experimental Highlander Cup that took place not long time ago. The untested waters filled with unexplored maps and exotic unlocks have become a target of several highlander teams ready to discover and set foot on the unknown lands. With the recent addition of The Triad Pack and not-so-recent Pyromania fever, we felt obliged to let those keen explorers take a bite at all the new stuff, along with some new maps to spice up the game. Just a week ago we had the chance to spectate the crowning of the High and Low brackets’ champions in quite entertaining finals. RIP in peace Permzilla swiftly claimed victory over Max-Play Highlander Team with a definite 6-0 in the High Bracket, whereas over in the Low Bracket, Wolves of Anatolia took on and overcame the challenge presented by That awkward moment conquering both maps for themselves.

Here we are, ladies and gentlemen – the end of the fourth week of Season 13 is upon us. With over six hundred matches played there’s still a lot of uncertainty amongst the teams as nothing is decided quite yet. The next few weeks will provide us with more hype and action and with what a gem we shall celebrate the upcoming beginning of the weekend. Two great Premiership teams will duke it out tonight, racing for the playoffs spots and a chance to win this season’s grand prize – Quarantine will take on the new addition to the Premiership, The Last Resort!

I think we’ve had a lot of experience with their team in the past, met them at lan, etc., and I would say we’re prepared, nevertheless we never underestimate our opponents!

For the i46’s greatest surprise, The Last Resort, it’s an opportunity to further secure their playoff spot and droso remains optimistic:
