Highlander Season 11 powered by Tt eSPORTS Playoffs

Date December 19, 2016

etf2lxlhl_by_zeubermedicsfm-damptck

As both the regular season and 2016 draw to a close we are pleased to announce the playoffs of ETF2L Highlander Season 11
We hope you enjoyed the matches, and for the teams that made it through, congratulations.

Despite the merging of mid and high in the regular season there will still be independent mid and high playoffs with teams that signed up for mid being eligible for the mid playoffs and visa versa with teams that signed up for high. In the high division playoffs players with high experience will be allowed to default merc whereas in the mid playoffs players with no higher than mid experience are permitted to default merc.

All playoff matches will be using the Map Elimination system. Due to this season having 10 as opposed to 9 maps in the map pool as with previous seasons there will be an extra ban round such that the upper seeded team will have two maps to pick the decider map from. This means the map elimination will be as follows.

  1. The higher seeded team can decide if they want to start or if the other team should.
  2. Team A eliminates a map
  3. Team B eliminates a map
  4. Team B picks a map
  5. Team A picks a map
  6. Team A eliminates a map
  7. Team B eliminates a map
  8. Team A eliminates a map
  9. Team B eliminates a map
  10. The higher seeded team chooses the decider map from the remaining two maps.

At the premiership tier we will be using double elimination for the first time, this will consist of 4 teams with each round being a best of 3, if needed the grand final will consist of two best of threes on separate days.

For the other three tiers standard single elimination best of three will be used.

We have decided to move the playoffs for High/Mid/Open back a week to prevent clashes with players’ holiday plans, as such the playoffs will now take place January 9 – January 28.

Note that all dates are estimates and teams are able to negotiate other days by scheduling with their opponents.

If you find yourself on the list of these teams expect an admin to add you and help organise your playoff matches, if there is no information or insufficient information given we will have to decide your match dates for you. Keep in mind that we will try and accommodate both teams, but the match date may still vary from your provided days, if for example none of the days match with your opponent, but your opponent offered more days than you did.
