Two teams who didn’t come into the season with much hype, however Politically correct pander haven’t looked that bad, being problematic for their opponents and even soundly beating 3/6 without even breaking a sweat. Perhaps they’re a decent lineup, or maybe teams just need to man up and scrim them.

Meanwhile, nunya have had a dire season, with one round in 4 maps. Winning needs to be something they experience soon, or they could be dumped out of prem before even getting a chance to really show their skill in a meaningful way. Can they pick up some points against this unorthodox opponent? Will Lowpander have some secret strats on fairly new map Reckoner? This will be one for the spectator who’s bored of the same old metagame, but then again I could say that about every Lowpander match all season.

The French, who are on a convincing streak in both scrims and officials, take on their fellow playoff focused rivals, in a match that could come back to bite the loser come week 8, along with a missed opportunity to achieve top four. The scout combo of blade and Néo have been stomping so far, and could be a tough force to take on head-to-head, even with the impressive scout combo Arctic Foxes have in their possession.

The Germans look good, with the pocket feeling pretty much carrying on where he left off in week 1, putting in over 20 frags and 9000 damage in both maps last week against Lemmings. However, this is their toughest opponent they’ve played so far, and these Frenchies look like they could be out to punish even the smallest mistakes the Foxes make, so both teams need to keep on their toes in this tight-looking fixture.

The fixtures for the Experimental Highlander Cup are now released and can be seen here along with the groups.

In the Premiership and High groups all teams will advance to playoffs. For Mid and Open the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. High, Mid and Open will have Quarter Finals starting at 21:15 on Saturday, with the Semi Finals at 19:00 on Sunday and the Grand Finals at 21:15. The Premiership group will not have quarter finals and go straight to Semi Finals on Sunday.

Groups Mid #3 and Mid#4 only have three teams due to signup numbers, the top two teams will still advance.

Reminder that the knockout games are to be played on pl_upward with golden cap rounds. In the group stages pl_badwater is a best of two with no golden cap.

The winners, second, and third place teams will all receive pixel trophies on their profile.

Have you ever seen the film Karate Kid? Remember how at the beginning of the film, Jaden Smith is completely helpless, and is repeatedly bullied by these Chinese kids for being different? That is a metaphor for this game. nunya is that kid, who at the start of this season looked hopeless, and to be completely rolled by the big Chinese kids such as Se7en. Is there redemption for them yet? Will Kaidus pull a Jackie Chan (regardless of his muscular status) and take pity on them, and take them under his wing to become kung fu masters? No. No, that’s not how this story goes.
nunya are probably going to be slaughtered on a level that prem hasn’t seen in a while, and this could be quite literally painful to watch. But, of course, if they DO get an upset, this could be one of the most significant and exciting matches of the season, so there is still reason to watch.

A tale of two rosters with wins in week 1, each looking for a spot in playoffs by the end of the season. Unexpected scored a very convincing 6-1 win on badlands vs Lowpander previously, but looked a lot shakier when they won by a single round gap against the same opponent on snakewater, which could be an issue given that top5rocket did the opposite, looking much stronger on snakewater than badlands. However, nothing is assured coming into this battle for a highly desirable set of points for both teams.
