Ending sucked.
Implicitly referencing to stuff troughout the show does not make it thematic or deep.
Lost characters were shallow and behaved in an unbelievably unrealistic way. (they basically always were a tool to enforce the extreme suspense and mystery throughout the show)
Why make Lost into a character drama with such weak characters? They should have kept more of the SF aspects of the show, but I guess they had gotten themselves in such a big shitstorm of plotholes, they just decided to deus-ex-machina themselves out of this mess, covering up every reboot of a concept within the show with shallow character interaction and melodrama.

Few questions for the fanatics out there that probably paid more attention than me.
1. The diesease that everyone was scared shitless of at the start but then become a non-factor over night. What? Was that just smoke overlord of doom corrupting people and everyone just decided to take a vaccine and wear gas masks because they didn’t understand, or did the writers get tired of constantly overcoming the hurdle and just say fuck it.
2. The corruption of siheed and claire by smoke monster of doom. Mr ching chong seemed pretty serious about it, and even did a test and determined there’d been a definitive actual change in them, but then suddenly “oh lols im a hero instead!”. I can understand the prospect of a change of heart, emotional overturns, etc, but the impression that was conveyed to the viewers was it was a scientific fact that this people were “evil”. Anyone?
3. Was walt in the church? I understand why michael wasn’t, but I fail to see what that has to do with the brat. Either way I didn’t see him there, perhaps I just missed him.
4. Wtf was with farradays mum? In s3 or s4 whenever it was she’s telling desmond about what he’s supposed to/not supposed to do, and constantly popping up seemingly having a very firm grasp on a situation that’s causing the entirety of the cast to rip their hair off in frustration. I’m pretty confident her part was never explained whatsoever, btu again maybe I missed something?

Watched it with all my closest friends, we actually all dressed up as our favourite LOST characters, got dharma beer, BBQ ETC. Had some drinking games, got a load of photos taken, theorized etc.
We’ve watched the show together since it first aired, just as we all became friends, so the ending of this is more significant to us than it would be for others because, in september were are going our separate ways in life really (university).
We watched the finale, and I can tell you right here that the only reason I didn’t cry like a little bitch is because I didn’t want to cry infront of my friends, but all of us were on the verge of tears really. All of us loved and understood the finale, tbh those who don’t like it are either people who just picked up the show and haven’t invested 6 years in it, or didn’t understand the ending. Or maybe you just wanted to see a 1 hour showdown between flocke and jack..Not gonna happen, thats not lost you see. I’m so happy with this ending, couldn’t have asked for anything better to finish a show I’ve loved since day one.
Sad sad irish man.

1. – Not quite sure about the disease myself someone else can answer better but there was no real disease apart from smokeys corruption, the hazmat suits in desmonds hatch was just to make sure he stayed confined and pushed the button, a dharma social expiriment.
2. – Well thats just syed, his whole story was about a good guy ending up in bad situations exposing the bad parts of him, and then him being portrayed as the bad guy. Only for his good side to come through at the crucial moments. Having 2 women you loved die puts you a bit on the edge i’d guess.
3.- Walt (or as michael called him through the seasons WAAAAAAAAALLLLLTTTT) was not in the church, it seems he was not close enough to the other losties in terms of that and probably was with another group of people in the afterlife, like his dead mum and dead (i think thats open to interpretation)
4.- Thats never explained but somwhere through her early life exposure to the island, maybe in some expiriement she becomes some sort of time/space overlord who watches over the time line making sure that fate runs its course. She must be dead or like desmond as in the final episode we see shes not ready to move on to the afterlife, shes aware of it, and shes worried desmond will take daniel away and make him see what his life was really like and he will stop playing piano and become a dribbling idiot again :).

If you want to invest in characters and watch a ‘character drama’ watch The Wire.
