Sennheiser make AMAZING quality headsets, but afaik they optimize them for music, not for games, so it can be quite unfitting for a gamer. Although, I have my doubts, that this can only be a marketing trick by “gamer” companies like SS and Razer. Can’t say for sure, though :)
Last edited by exm,
an expensive sennheiser with an alright mic would by far be the best choice, but headsets are handy and not as expensive :)
been using the steelseries 4h for a good while now and its really good, siberia + v2 are probably better tho
How exactly can headphones be optimized for gaming?
Positional Audio? Pff.
Hi-Fi ftw :)
Indeed, A speaker at the end of the day is just a magnet that vibrates a diaphram of some kind to make sound. On headphones which have no amps, etc,,, All you can really do is change the material/size of the diaphram to make it stronger at certain frequencys.
“Gaming Optimised” is 100% a marketing term and doesn’t really mean anything tangible.
I was actually referring to hi-fi headphones though. While I’d agree speakers are better, surely you can’t be arguing there’s not a massive difference in headphones.

No, by speaker I meant the driver itself, not an actual speaker. :P
