Mouse issue.

My g5 randomly cuts out. I hear the hardware disconnect/connect tone, but the various lights and functions on the mouse (ie. sens selection) that are independant of the computer still operate as usual. Anyone come accross such a thing and/or know a possible solution?
That’s normal with Logitech mouses.
I’ve had three mx518 that died with the same issiue… Don’t know how or why but its seems to have something to do with the frequency of your processor.
Read that somewhere after my 3rd died and overclocked my processor slightly and this new mouse have ran smoothly ever since.
Cant be arsed to look it up for yah but yeh… google it.
Edit: And yes, its a known problem, send it back to logitech and theyll get you a new one… that will end up the same as yer last :)

no it wont, the new revision pwns and has better dpi
It’s nothing to do with the guy talking about frequency…
Over time with the logitech mice, the cord becomes loose inside the mouse. This means movement disrupts it and it acts and “disconnecting and reconnecting” the mouse. You need to open your mouse up and resolder the connection (and cut down the wire back a bit).
p.s. this won’t help you because you’ll still be awful

yeh, thats what i did with 2 of the mice, didnt work shait. Its doesnt have anything to do with the cord, belive me. And what i read about the frequency fucking things up for the logitech mouse was hard to believe but it has worked for me.
And when you think about it the mouse disconnects more often when running stuff that lets your processor work abit.
(this is why some people can have a mx518 for 5yers and some can go trough 6 of them during the same period)
Edit: Logitech support is brilliant however and they’ll send you a new one free of charge.
Too bad the same shit will start to happen on that one after abit more than half a year.
