Why not get an HD4890/HD5770?

the Asus site doesn’t list Phenom II on it’s support list for the M2N.
nForce 430 is AM2 instead of AM2+ as well.
So either you get a new motherboard as well, or maybe you can find a cheap Opteron somewhere.

Because a 4890 is MASSIVE overkill for a 19″ that will be running TF2/L4D2. :P

Although I must add, it is a bloody good card and I am planning on getting one myself.

Theres no such thing as future proofing in computers. Better to get something cheaper now, then something better in 6 months than spend loads now, and have something sub standard to what you could have bought in 6 months time. ;)

But mind you, its only a £50 price difference. So if you want to get a 4890, its not exactly breaking the bank. ;P

4850 gets me 60fps solid on a 24″ with m0res config. So not a bad option. ;)

whats your current graphics card?
are u able to slightly push your budget to bout 170?
