Playoffs
The playoff structure will depend on the amount of signups. We will try to stick to the scheduled block.A final announcement will be made when the groups are finalized.
Rule Changes
Last Highlander Nations Cup we started experimenting a bit to try and get some additional eyes on the nations cup. We’ll be continuing the trend this year around.
Multiple Rosters Per Country
We’ll be allowing each country to field up to 2 line-ups. If a country has even more prospect rosters we’ll tackle these case-by-case. If more captain applications are submitted the best captain(s) go through. In rare cases we may allow more the 2 line-ups, this might be in cases to balance out the amount of teams to an even amount or make the tournament structure easier.
Server Location
As we’re anticipating non-European countries might be participating we’re adding an addendum to the server clause ONLY FOR THE NATIONS CUP. The server chosen when competing against a non-European team IS IN EUROPE. But should be the best possible ping the other country can have while ping for the European team stays within reason.
As example, if North Americans are interested in participating we expect a western/central European server to be used rather then an Nordic/Eastern European server.
If 2 non-European teams are facing off against one another they will get to choose a non-European server.
Nationality Changes
After deliberation last year we allowed a first nationality swap after a lock in a very long time. This year we’re making the ruling official allow players to swap country if they fulfill requirements. In order to request a nationality change please contact the admin team.
A player may request a nationality switch only once in their ETF2L Nations Cup career. Once the switch is approved and the player competes for the new nation, the change is permanent.
Eligibility Criteria:
The player holds dual nationality from the new country or the player has resided in the country for at least 2 consecutive years.
The player has never played in an official Nations Cup or if they did, they must not have played in the last Nations Cups.
No Switching for Competitive Advantage
Switching must not be done to boost super teams. Scenarios will be looked at case-by-case.
Roster Limit
Traditional 6v6’s roster limit is 13, we’ll be increasing this to 16 for the nations cup.
Captain Applications
There are no restrictions on which players you can field in your team, so long as they are of your country’s nationality and are eligible to play in ETF2L. If you have any questions, please contact the admin team.
To apply, make an admin request, explaining why you should be your country’s captain and describe your planned national roster. Applicants who have experience leading successful ETF2L teams and a good reputation in the scene will be given priority.
Captain Applications will close on Sunday, 12th July 18:00 CEST Extra teams can still apply until the 12th of July.
