Season 2 – Looking for new Custom Maps

Progress on our 2^nd Season going on, at the moment we are again looking out for some new custom maps for our Map-Pool. Do you have any map in mind which we should add to our Map-Pool in Season 2? Feel free to post them in the comments.

Beside that we can already tell you every team will have a contact (IRC/ICQ/E-Mail) and 6 members with SteamID entered for participating in our 2^nd Season.

Season 1 – …finished & archived

Yep, well, that’s it – Season 1 is finished and can now be found in our Hall of Fame.

Thanks for all participating teams; all in all our 1^st Season was a success even due of some team-drops during the Season. 126 games have been played (excluding 8 given Default Wins). Only two teams managed not losing any map: syre and IsF – special congratulations to that!

Due to a Sign-Up bug on the site you can’t register new teams at the moment. We will fix that bug and inform you as soon as possible (sadly our site admin is on vacations this week).

1st Cup Round – Default Dates and others…

Some matches couldn’t be scheduled yet, most problems are with teams which not using IRC. We set a Default Match Date for some matches. These dates can only be changed if both teams agree (but have to be played till 13.03., 23:59 CET). You should try to contact your opponent anyway to speak about Servers etc. – otherwise we recommend team leaders to meet in #etf2l @ QuakeNet at the Default Date. For problems contact an admin.

Season 1 ending

Tonight the last two Season 1 matches will take place. During the week syre won over Team Jobola in the Playoff Game for the Division 2b Title, gratulations to them.

Due to the many drops in Division 1 we decided to skip other Playoff Games. 1^st-3^rd Place from Division 3a & 3b will get promoted to Division 2 next Season, 1^st & 2^nd from Division 2a & 2b will get promoted to Division 1.

A big Season 1-ending Newspost will be published in the next days.

2^nd Cup – 1^st Round

Our 2^nd Cup started on Sunday evening with the only Norwegian ETF2L team Quack Attack challenging the probably best team in Europe at the moment, Four Kings. Our Cup & League titleholder could get a clear win over the newcomers (well 8:0 | badlands 5:0).

We are happy many games already scheduled and entered in the Calendar, but most of them are still missing. Please try to contact your 1^st Round Cup opponent as soon as possible. After game is scheduled one team leader has to enter the date in our Calendar. If you have problem contacting your opponent, please open a thread in our Challenge Forum.

—> All 1^st Round Games have to be scheduled and entered till coming Sunday, 9^th March.

—> All 1^st Round Games have to be played till next week’s Thursday, 13^th March.

Season 2 – Sign-Ups-Period

As we get more and more questions about it, here are the Season 2 Dates (can probably still change):

—> Season 2 Sign-Ups closing: 30.03.2008

—> Season 2 First Game Week: 07.04.2008

—> Season 2 Last (7^th) Game Week: 19.05.2008

We will start with 64 slots, and put the limit up after every eighth team on the Waiting List.

Of course you can register your team on the page any time so you will just have to click one button to join the 2^nd Season when Sign-Ups are open – have a look in the FAQ for instructions.

Season 1 – Last Game Week

Last normal League Week is running, two days ago Division 1 finally managed to finish all regular games. The final standing can be found at our Tables.

Division 3a and 3b will also finish soon, only a few matches left here. Beside Friede seiner Asche, who already unreachable for the 1^st Place in Division 3a, all other positions are still open. Good Luck for all teams who can still get a Relegation-Spot. Remember our Season 1 System can be found here.

Two matches are not scheduled yet. All teams still got time to schedule it by their selves till 23:59 CET, otherwise the mentioned Default Dates will be entered in the Calendar:

New: Recruiting Feature

Of course we always are working on the site and try to improve it as best as we can. Yesterday we integrated a new Recruiting Feature: All team leaders can set the Recruiting Mode on their team pages and then will appear at the Recruiting List.

You will soon also be able to choose which skill level and classes you are recruiting.

Besides that, if you have any other Feature in mind which we should integrate on our League-Site, feel free to post in our Feedback Thread.

New: IRC Bot

Our hard-working Site-Admin ST8 also working on our own IRC-Bot named “ETF2L”.

Here are all current commands you can use:

Updated: Server Config

After Valve included a Crit-Variable and Tournament-Mode in the last Team Fortress 2 Patch we updated our League and Cup Config. TFTrue is also not needed anymore.

Changed: Player Addition

We integrated a new Player-Addition-System, so from now on you can add new players or delete old ones at the Dashboard. After an admin verified it (normally done in between 24 hours) he is added to your roster automatically.

New Rule: Taunt-Abuse forbidden.

Since the new Patch there is also some kind of new bug, where you are unhittable as Scout doing a “Taunt” in the air.

—> You are not allowed to abuse the “Taunt” during a fight to destroy the hit box.

The 2nd Cup Tree is now seeded and published; you can find all Fixtures on our Cup-Page. As mentioned before, due to the public vote these brackets have been done by seeding which means low skilled teams will meet a high skilled team in the 1^st Round. Just take it as a challenge. Feel free to sign up for our 2^nd Season (Sign-Ups starting Mid-March) where you will have the ability to play teams on your skill level only. The complete Seeding-List can be found here.

1^st Round Deadline will be the 13^th March. Again we please every team to read through our Rules and FAQ Page where you will find all important information for regular ETF2L games.

Notice: All 1^st Round Games have to be scheduled till 9^th March. The scheduled date has to be entered in our Calendar (see FAQ for further information).

Division 2a managed to finish all their games last Tuesday, we congratulate
The Last Resort (formerly known as Phonetic) to finish on Top Position; they will get promoted to Division 1 in Season 2. Weapons of the Rebellion grabbed the 2^nd Spot and will have the possibility to get promoted in Division 1 by Playoffs.

Division 2b finished all games as well; anyhow syre and Team Jobola are tied in points for the 1^st Place after both winning 8 maps by only losing 2. Both teams will meet each other in a final playoff game for the 1^st Place next week!

Sadly again two Week 8 Fixtures of Division 3a couldn’t be scheduled:

• Klan:fader vs. Team Empire – Default Date: 06.03.2008, 20:30 CET

Beside that Valve finally added some new variables and a Tournament-Mode to Team Fortress 2. As TFTrue is not needed to remove crits anymore, we will change our Rules and League Config. An update will be published in the coming days!

Happily we also have a new addition to our staff, shifty from TLR joined us some days ago. His fresh blood will help us to organize the 2^nd Cup and our upcoming 2^nd Season!
