Season 4 rules and general system

Date December 22, 2008

Rules

We have revised our rules for season 4. Please be accquainted with our current ruleset, found here. [Link]

The most notable changes are:

  • The maximum amout of default losses before you will be dropped has been decreased from 3 to 2. (rule 2.9)
  • A dropped team will now have all its results removed if it has played less than 75% if all matches in its division. (not counting matches against dropped teams)
  • The turning-up for a match delay time has been altered. It is now 15 minutes after a match has been started, and 10 minutes after the first map ended for the second map to start. (Rule 1.6.5)
  • We had a small adeddum to our rules against scripts, which is the following: “For any scripts not mentioned here, you can use as general rule of thumb: anything that allows you to do something that would be impossible without that script is forbidden. When in doubt, the admins decide on the legality of the script.” (Rule 1.4.8)
  • Updated warning system. (Rule 2.12) Warnings can now cost you points. The points are deducted on a per-season basis. Warnings from season 3 will not cost you points in season 4. An overview of the system:

    General system

    • 3 minor warnings = 1 major warning
    • 1 major warning = deduction of 1 point
    • 3 major warnings = additional deduction of 3 points
    • 5 major warnings = expulsion from the league

    Minor warnings

    • Wrong / missing screenshot (can be reverted if screenshots uploaded afterwards)
    • Unplayed match after match deadline
    • Use of non-english language (Note: You are allowed to use your foreign language if both teams are from the same country.)
    • Not being able to provide a requested Demo (1st time)
    • Flaming (1st time)
    • Not showing up for a match (+ Default Loss for this match)
    • Entering a date into the Calendar without opponents approval (1st time)

    • Not being able to provide a requested Demo (after 1st time)
    • Flaming (after 1st time)
    • Entering a date into the Calendar without opponents approval (after 1st time)
    • Cheating (+ reduction of possible extra points and banning of the player involved, depandant on the situation)

Season 4 – Division 6

Because of the huge amount of teams interested in participating in the ETF2L, we have yet again vastly expanded the amount of participants. For the most people, everything will stay the same. But to be able to play host to 60 more teams, we will add a 6th division. Out of the many options we had to place all these teams, we found this to be the best.
The emphasis of this 6th division will be teams who just play to have a good time, and don’t take everything all too seriously. You should see this as a place for the brand new teams, who are only just starting out, and for any other group of friends playing for the fun of the game.

Do you think this is what you seek? Please let us know, and we’ll secure a place for you in our 6th division. You can contact us through IRC or by email, or just leave a post in the thread we created for this (only accessible by team leaders): [Link]
