Monday Night Madness #4 will take place on Monday 3rd May 2010. The signups will open on Sunday 2nd May 2010 at 20:00CEST.

MNM #4 will again feature 2 cups of 16 teams each, giving a total of 32 teams. There is always the possibility of making further sections of the cup if signups prove to be really popular, but please ensure that you only signup to play if you are actually going to take part and complete the cup.

See you tomorrow night for the cup! It starts at 20CEST.

The brackets will be drawn and posted in a longer welcome news post tomorrow, as per before.

Competing for Division 2

Relapsing back into our unorganised ways, ETF2L Radio is returning after the thrilling Season 7 Final to bring you coverage of one of the more interesting games happening this week – the fight for Division 2 between  Team Vertex and Only Rockets Love You.

After convincingly beating Fragmative in their Pre-Playoff game, many would expect Vertex with their heavily experienced line-up to take tonight’s fixture with ease – yet when the 2 sides met earlier in Season 7, Only Rockets managed to show their dominance on Gravel Pit, and subsequently cause a draw. It’ll therefore be very interesting to see whether Rockets can continue to cause Vertex problems, and get themselves into Division 2.

Phew! We can breathe again! It’s safe to say that ETF2L Season 7 has been our most exciting and close yet, culminating in a fantastic finish on Sunday with 3 teams all competing for the coveted title. However, only one team could emerge victorious, and after a thrilling match against FakkelBrigade, team  I Don’t Know?  have been crowned Champions of Europe! ETF2L SteelSeries Season 7 Award Nominations

With Season 7 coming to an end it’s now time for our famous ETF2L awards. Once again the community will vote to decide what players and teams will pick up a series of awards, ranging from best individual players to the team with the greatest sportsmanship. Make sure you contribute and support your favourite teams and players by voting in the Nomination Forum, but please read the rules first!

ESH Cup: The Western Digital Challenge

Our fantastic friends over at Esports Heaven are back with another brilliant TF2 Cup to get stuck into now that Season 7 has finished! They have listened to the feedback the TF2 community has given and consequently have introduced a Group Stage into the Cup to ensure that even if you aren’t likely to win the €250 cash prize, you will still be able to play multiple games! With 128 slots, it’s the perfect way to have some fun and support the TF2 community, so please sign up!

Season 8 Playoffs

Playoffs for teams at the top and bottom of their respective Divisions will begin shortly to determine seedings for the upcoming Season 8. For those teams that are equal on points with other teams in playoff positions, there are some ‘pre-playoffs’ matches that will need to be played before Sunday 2nd May. All other regular playoff matches will need to be completed by Sunday 9th May.

Some of these playoff matches will be very exciting, including the game between  Special attack and Mister to decide who will be promoted into Division 1 of Season 8.

ETF2L Season 8 Dates

Just like you, we’re eager to start  our next Season as soon as possible. We are therefore pleased to announce that Season 8 will kick off in mid-May, with final dates to be released soon. Stay tuned to ETF2L.org to keep up to date with all the Season 8 news.

Admin Applications

Running ETF2L is a hugely fun and rewarding job, and as we continue to expand we’re looking for more volunteers to join our Staff to maintain the high standard ETF2L has come to represent for TF2 competitions. We will shortly be reviewing the last batch of applications so if you applied you will be hearing from us soon, but if you didn’t apply and are still interested in helping out, then please speak to an Admin in #etf2l.

What’s In The Box? 2

I’m very pleased to say that 31 of the 32 teams who competed were excellent at both their time-keeping and also informing the Admin team of any delays. This was really great work from all of you, thankyou for understanding and for keeping us in touch with what was happening. By playing on time, you managed to ensure both cups were finished in one evening. There was only one main issue and that was no Admin covering the cup properly for me whilst I was called away urgently to an ESL match (due to my team having 5 players). I’ve apologised to the two teams concerned who were affected by this issue, and I hope it hasn’t spoilt a fun Monday cup for you.

The best thing about MNM #3 for me, was the bot’s live draw in IRC for the low cup:
