Interview Transcript

Admirable: Hello sports fans and welcome to another ETF2L Season 13 interview with myself, Admirable. This is number four and as such represents something of a midpoint in our series, so let’s have a little cheer!

A: What better way to celebrate this glorious occasion than with a celebration of the meteoric rise of Team Decerto’s star scout, Stark.  Are you ready to be celebrated, Stark?!

S: Ofcourse, I’m ready to be celebrated.

A: Before we get underway I must confide in you that the main objective of this interview series has always been to attempt to cultivate an interest in fashion amongst the Premier Division.

S: Mwhah!

The first of tonight’s Premiership matches of our 13th 6v6 Season is played between  Crack Clan and The Last Resort (former Nitrose) at 21.15 CEST. The two teams met in an official in the Process cup final in September where  Crack Clan pulled off a 4-2 win. How will these two teams compete on the classics cp_granary and cp_snakewater? Extra fuel is added because both teams are tied on the first place at the moment with the same amount of played matches.

 Crack Clan’s star demoman  Retsh0ck goes careful but well prepared into this match:

Team Fortress 2 at times can be full of suprises, and it’s not always the best team who wins and goes through. So as it stands both teams have 11 points and we have reason to feel that we can take the step forward. Culturely they’re very strong and have been for a while, even before their I46 performance. Their game is very strong, they’re very good on the counter attack and they know how to defend. I have come up against Nitrose in the past, so obviously I know perfectly well how difficult they can be to play against. I intend to pass this message to my players so they’ll know we have to take this game serious and are best prepared for tonight. And as usual, We’d like to have the fans’ full support, their help will be REALLY important.

His counterpart in  The Last Resort HYS says:

It is probably going to be the hardest game of the season thus far and we are more than aware of their deathmatch ability. We don’t feel as well prepared as the previous weeks due to both Epsilon and Decerto cancelling games against us this week but we will give 110% as always. Hope we can make it a close match for the spectators!

The journey of Premiership qualifier winner  (-.(-.(-.-).-).-) CHINESE MAFIA was not crowned with success so far, with a devastating loss against  The Last Resort in their week 1 match. Tonight they will have to use mercs once again,  basH is stepping in as scout and Punchline’s  Tek stands in as soldier.  BFF managed to win against  Punchline and lost to the team-to-beat  Epsilon eSports so far. They enter this match as favourite.

Update: The statement from Darn was actually a lot longer. The German internet ate half of it.

Once again we put on our helmets and prepare for a battle of internet lordship. Today we face a gruesome evil chinese mafia, who no doubt have prepared for this encounter with the same furiousity as Ivan Drago when he faced Rocky Balboa. Yet still I find myself wondering? How is this possible, I clearly see two lithuanians on their roster… and I wonder… where do they get their electrity from? As we all well know that we have Mirelin (Igor Igor) in our roster and he has to use the whole Latvian and most of Lithuania’s churning butter just to get his wooden apparatus to start up. I find hard to belive that they are able to play properly against our energy draining vampire. From a little unicorn beliving byte-sized bird I heard that they have even harnessed the power of dark ages, and with this black magic sorcery they are going to strike up their PCs. Sadly not even Satan himself is a match for Igor Igor who has trained vigorously by eating only rocks for the past year to become the mightiest Igor in Latvia and the future King of Lithuania.

Unfortunately Raliator has had a personal incident and so we will be playing with 2 mercs. Should be an interesting game, we’ve had a couple of close games in the past but with recent roster changes. I think there could be a lot of kick coming from us, we’re pumped.

 Epsilon eSports’ new lineup performed well against the allstar team  BFF in their week 1 match, winning one map very closely and one map very clearly. Now they are up against the promoted  Team Decerto who so far only managed to steal one point of  The Last Resort with a golden cap loss.

The team around the scout duo  schocky and wltrs is obviously the favourite to win this match. Our David  Team Decerto has to pull off something amazing to win a point out of this match. Just as the other two Premiership matches tonight, kickoff is at 21:15 CEST.

 Epsilon eSports’ Mike expects nothing but a win:

We are quite confident on granary and snakewater and our results are satisfying as of late, both in pcws and officials. Decerto have undergone a slight reform going into this season but I think they did very well with the additions bringing in 3 players with prem experience (Arx especially) which are all individually rather talented. This is a positive move for them and will stabilise them hopefully throughout Season 13 in prem. Despite this, I would say Epsilon have already got good synergy when it is needed and so we hope and expect nothing less than 6-0 tonight. Gl&Hf!

Snyyppis from  Team Decerto agrees with his opponent:

We aren’t very much fussed about today to be honest. We are just hoping for a relaxed game and to smooth out some of our flaws. I guess this is just one of those games we’d rather get out of the way and focus more on the matches that are important to us pointwise. Of course we’re going to try our hardest, but looking at our recent pcws and the form Epsilon have right now, it might be a very quick game

Tonight at 21.15 CEST  Quarantine plays  Crack Clan in their week 2 match on cp_gullywash_final1 and cp_granary.

Both teams suffered player losses at the start of the season, in Crack Clan‘s case the new roster is rather set after playing together for almost a month. Them beating Punchline yesterday 5-1, who are widely considered a playoff candidate, Crack Clan are confirming their role as a playoff aspirant, even with the new roster.  Quarantine had to deal with similar roster issues, with  Qun replacing  Erectus and  lime replacing  Tarkus, who was found cheating. Let’s see if  Quarantine‘s new players can live up to the expectations or if  Crack Clan will float on the wave of success to another win on the road to the playoffs.

Tonight, popular teams  Crack Clan and Punchline return to Season 13 to play their Week 1 Premiership match, at 21.15 CEST. This is one of the last Week 1 premiership games, so this is a game you don’t want to miss. With the roster changes in  Crack Clan after  mantuN was found cheating by  AnAkIn’s anti-cheat plugin and replacing him with  minimoose, they already won the finals of the cp_process one night cup a couple of days ago against Premiership newcomer  Nitrose. It looks like  Crack Clan have a very high chance of performing well this game.

 Punchline, on the other hand, should still feed from their 4th place of last season and a place under the last 8 in the i46 Team Fortress 2 tournament and are expected to be highly motivated for this match. This is definitely going to be a close one.

ipz- of  Crack Clan had the following to say about the upcoming match:

Punchline was always one of our favourite teams to play against. They have some players with great skills and stunning team work. Nevertheless, they did not have that “punch” in the past few weeks and seem not to have kept the spirit of last season’s Punchline. Anyway, we’ve done our homework and expect nothing but a win. Let us hope for a very exciting match.

 Punchline’s  Flippy responded with the following:

Crackclan is definitely our best opponent, they are kind guys and they offer an excellent challenge. Even if they seem like a quite new team they already have everything to be one of the top teams at the moment. Anyway, it should be a great match with people loving each other and we hope to show a better performance than last time.

Staff Updates

Congratulations to  Panromir! After only one and a half months of trial, he is now deemed worthy of becoming full ETF2L league admin. Just another step to the all-german reign over the European Team Fortress 2 scene…

 Forsak3n has decided to quit the admin staff after a longer period of inactivity and due to a lack of motivation for the admin work. We thank him for the countless hours he invested into the league and wish him all the best for his life and gaming career (see you in prem?).

Kop is moved to the position of an honorary admin. The former head admin will still remain a member of the staff to overlook things but is fairly inactive at the moment.

The full staff can be seen on our staff page. In the name of all admins, we ask you to please not add admins on steam but to use our IRC channel #etf2l on Quakenet or the support page, if you have a complaint or a question. Your advantage of using IRC to get in touch with an admin is that you will always get to talk to the next free admin.

The schedule is as follows –

• 20:00 CEST – Round of 16 Starts – ctf_haunt_a1
• 21:00 CEST – Round of 8 Starts – cp_gorge
• 22:00 CEST – Round of 4 Starts – pl_swiftwater_ugc
• Finals – To be scheduled by the teams and played until Sunday, October 7 – Best of three, maps are picked with the ETF2L map pick system [Explanation]

MAP RULES

Payload and CP Maps

• Bo3 – All matches will be a Bo3 of AB rounds
• Screenshots of each AB rotation are required
• To enter the score, each AB rotation counts as a map. Therefore if you won 2 – 0, enter the score as 2-0 for 2 maps (both pl_swiftwater or cp_gorge). If you won 2 – 1, enter the scores as 2 – 1 for both, and tick the golden cap box

CTF Maps

• Matches will be played as first to 7 (Bo13) and with timelimit 20
• In the event of a draw play a Bo1 GC round with timelimit 10

Make sure to let admins know if your match is running more than 5 minutes late! If you are 10 minutes late then set mp_timelimit to 15 minutes, and so on. This is to keep the next round on time.

Note about ctf_haunt 

There is an updated version of ctf_haunt out within the past couple of days, the new version ctf_haunt_b1 only has a few changes related to bug fixes. Due to the timing of its release we will allow teams to use either version however you are reminded NOT TO exploit any glitches if you discover them, just report them on the feedback forum.
