First of all – we’re sorry about the long delay between this post and the finals. We needed to finish a few internal things before the cup could be wrapped up properly.

Congratulations to all the respective brackets’ winners and runner-ups; and a big thanks to all participating teams!

This Turbine Cup was the biggest 6s cup ever to be hosted on ETF2L and we hope you enjoyed Turbine and managed to get rid of all the bad prejudices surrounding Turbine. We admins have learned a lot ourselves and we’re grateful for you giving us the opportunity to do so.

Highlander Season 6 powered by Tt eSPORTS Premiership – Playoffs: Kill Switch vs Tourettes Chessclub

Beginning the Season 6 Playoffs with the first of the amazing matches between  Kill Switch and  Tourettes Chessclub. With this being the final game for one of the teams, Kill Switch will be wanting to regain their 1st place status from Season 5 and add a 2nd season to their metaphorical belts but with  Tourettes Chessclub‘s re-worked roster, such a result may not be so easily gained and a surprise could lay around the corner.

The match will be casted on BlackOut TV by sigafoo and Heavy Is GPS who is also on the camera. Tune in at 20.00 CEST!

Now, that we’ve broken all the ties and reduced the number of teams by half, we can proceed to the most intense part of the cup: The Knockout Stages! Each skill group has its own tournament tree which can be found below:

As only the top two teams of each group will proceed into the knockout stages on Tuesday, we will host tiebreakers on Monday, May 5th, from 20:00CEST onwards. Matches can be played at any other time that day if both teams agree on a time, as long as the results are submitted before 23:00CEST that same day. We will randomly decide winners of unplayed games and unsubmitted results after that!

To keep everything simple & quick, tiebreakers will be played in a single golden cap round with no timelimit and the first intel cap to win the GC. Three-way ties will result in three GC rounds being played. No regular rounds will be played.

If a three-way tiebreaker results in another three-way tie, the team who capped intel the fastest during those three tiebreaker GCs wins the whole tiebreaker and proceeds into the knockout stages. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s the final game tonight for two of our contenders, Tourettes Chessclub against itsallgood. Currently sitting within the playoff threshold, Tourettes Chessclub have been going under major roster changes to improve their edge and guarantee themselves in the playoffs however such a result can only be achieved if they can match itsallgood‘s fury and take those 6 points away from them which maybe considerably harder considering their mighty play all season. All we can be sure of is that this is a game you do not want to miss!
