The guys over at maincall.tf are hosting a 6s cup from January 9th to 11th, featuring a selection of brand new custom maps: koth_sandstone, cp_vanguard & cp_sunshine! You should probably head over there to check out the details yourself. Signups will be closing tonight!

Being good at casting, maincall.tf will be providing as much coverage of the event as possible, details to be announced on their site; or you could just take a look at their stream!

Staff Changes

Having recently finished his League Admin trial, DCS is moving up in the ranks and joins us as full League Admin.

While we’re happy about that, we have to sadly announce quintosh not only stepping down from his post as Head AC Admin, but leaving us altogether. Thank you for all the great work you did! Taking up quintosh’s duties will none other than Solid – looks like everyone’s in for another round of fair and cheat free seasons!

First of all, we offer our apologies over some confusion over the rules, please allow us clarify some of the outstanding questions in this newspost. The primary focus of this event is to attract new players, so teams and players with no experience will be given priority.

This means that those of you who have signed up already with some experience of competitive TF2 WILL NOT be guaranteed a place in the tournament. Please understand the purpose of the event is to attract new players, but if we cannot get as many new players as we have allocated space for, we will allow teams to sign up who have players who ONLY have ONE season of competitive experience TF2 experience in both Highlander or 6v6. Examples of those we will exclude:

• If you have one season of experience in each format, you are not eligible.
• If you have one season of competitive experience in Division 5 in either format, you are not eligible.
• Even if you only played 2 seasons of competitive TF2, both in Division 6, we will not classify you as new and therefore not eligible
• If you have played even one match in a level above Division 6, you are not eligible to play.

However we will allow:

– People who have played in Cup competitions or the Highlander Open but did not play anything else, you are eligible but at the same priority of those who played ONE season in Division 6.

Team Priority 

Furthermore for teams placing themselves in this competition, as mentioned earlier, we will give priority to new teams, given second priority to new players/teams with some of their players with competitive experience.

1. Completely new teams
2. New players and players with max 1 div6 season
3. Teams with 1 division of 6v6 experience.

This means that you may not be guaranteed a place in the tournament regardless of how early you signed up, as we want to give the newer members of the community the chance to participate. There will however, still be a Waiting List for those who want to play but are not given an automatic spot as we anticipate there may be some teams who do not show up on the date of the matches. Keep checking ETF2L for announcements on updates and progress.

Buddies updates

The amount of signups for Buddies greatly exceeded expectations, and we will begin matching them to teams shortly. Be prepared as you may be contacted by a representative from ETF2L to make a team, please ensure you are familiar with the rules and what is expected of you before you sign up, as well as the schedule. If you signed up as a buddy but do not get assigned a team, we encourage you to participate in TF2Center lobbies to find players to build your own cup team, remember signups close at Midnight CET, Sunday January 11th.

Hold that train! Season 7’s main season matches aren’t all over! We’ve got one final match and it’s a big one –  Tourettes Chessclub are going up against  PremTech in a clash that will decide the playoff positions and crucially, who will go into the Grand Final and who will have to fight in the playoffs. Currently   Highpander© are top of the league on 32 points, their 4-2 loss last week to Chessclub gave Scissors men a great chance to take that first spot, currently 2nd in the table on 29 points they need only 4 points from 6 today to take that automatic grand final spot. However BAITO, the Premtech leader also knows a 6-0 victory will put them in first place, currently on 28 points, level with Stacked for 3rd, Premtech have not lost a fixture since their week 1 defeat to Highpander. Both teams know a clear victory will propel them into first place, whilst for Highpander a 3-3 draw or 4-2 win for Premtech will see them tie on points, meaning a likely a playoff scenario to decide top seed. Stacked will also have an observant eye, no points for Premtech will mean another possible playoff scenerio for 3rd seed.

There is a lot at stake tonight as the maps throw a dice into mix, Koth_reservoir will be played along with Gullywash, given both teams a chance to show how much they have practised during this Christmas break.

BlackOut TV will be your hosts for the evening as Bulow is joined by Highpander captain Hildreth who will be watching with observant eyes to see who books their place in the Grand Final and who has to fight in the playoffs. Tune in tonight at 21 CET!

Here at ETF2L, we are always looking for ways to find inject new blood into our community and form partnerships with any organisation that wishes to make competitive TF2 a better place for all.  Well today we are proud to announce the start of two more beneficial partnerships as for the first time ever TF2Center and ETF2L are working together to bring you the first ever Archimedes Cup specifically aimed at new players but with a chance for established competitive players to enter as a Buddy! The competition will be hosted on both websites, with match pages and tournament brackets being done on ETF2L and the actual match (including server) will be played using a private lobby system created especially for this tournament by the guys over at TF2 Center.

Season 19 powered by Tt eSPORTS – Wrap-up

First of all we want to wish all of you and your families a “Merry Christmas” and a “Happy New Year”. This year comes to an end and thats the best time to look back on our latest 6v6 season in the “old” format:

The 19th 6v6 Season of ETF2L finished after 3 months of matches across all divisions, and we finally know the champions of Europe. It is our pleasure to announce that SUAVE, could claim the throne of ETF2L, securing 500€ from our secret donor as well as 6 Tt eSPORTS Verto Gaming Headsets courtesy of Tt eSPORTS. 

The VoDs of all playoff matches from BlackOutGamingTV and TeamFortress.TV are available on the their respective YouTube channels.
