Welcome to a new season of Highlander. We’ve reached the sign-up deadline with 148 joining us. We will make a few small adjustments to the tiers and teams. Because we’re moving to a new and fancy Swiss system it means teams will be matched with other teams within their skill bracket.

Swiss System Changes: How to prepare for Week 1

We’re ready for teams to submit their available playing days for Week 1.

Every team signed up for Highlander Season 8 (except for Premiership teams) needs to submit their available playing days by Saturday 23:59. You can do that through this page and selecting Edit Availability for your Season 8 team.

• Select between 1 and 3 consecutive days through the dropdown.
• Select a preferred time and time window for each day.
• Click Save Changes! You’re done!

That’s all there is to it for now, this should get you started for Week 1. There will be a “Swiss System FAQ” page listed on the site sometime when the system is 100% completed and we can guide new players through in-depth.

Premiership Fixtures will be created after the playoffs. Please schedule the games as you would normally with the Week starting this Sunday. (Because of the late notice, default dates will be delayed so it would be much appreciated to add the enemy leader asap and get it scheduled fast!)

Final Tiers will be released tomorrow night, and fixtures will be created on Saturday at 23:59!

SEASON 20 POWERED BY TT ESPORTS – WEEK 7: AWSOMNIAC vs SUAVE

So it comes down to this, the last game before playoffs and what a game. It’s all on the line for Awsomniac as they need to take 3 points off of 1st place behemoth SUAVE to secure the coveted last playoff spot. SUAVE will be fielding a different roster than usual but that didn’t seem too big of a problem when they faced Ze Knutsson Rollerbladers. But that was the game where SUAVE let their only point slip away from them so far. Do pocket master Tek and Bulle have what it takes to take on their counter parts, master mind KnOxXx and escape artist Mirelin? Will T-Mac be able to reach Mirelin and will winner of multiple ‘Off-classer of the season awards’ Flippy bring the headshots tonight? With koth_viaduct_pro5 and cp_badlands in play, this is a potential grand finals preview up for display.

With Tourettes Chessclub as our fresh  premiership champions, we venture forth into a new season. Highlander Season 8 will be kicking off soon and we want all of you to join in on the fun!

You can ONLY sign up by clicking the link above. Any signups via mail will be ignored.

Make sure to choose your desired division when signing up. If you created a new team or feel you can jump a division, feel free to apply for the division you believe you deserve you should be in. To prove you are capable of the division you applied for, we require you to submit screenshots of results from your recent practice matches or tournaments where you scored decent results against teams that play on the level you aim for. The quantity is not the most important factor in this case, it’s more of a helpful measure for us to figure out if your team will be able to keep up with the pace. There is no magical, minimum or maximum number of screenshots that you have to submit.

Since the new tier system is not yet implemented, there is a crossover period between divisions and tiers. Please continue to apply using the division structure, and we will seed the tiers based on these division applications. If you want to be more specific about a tier you request, send an application to staff@etf2l.org (details listed below). As a reminder here is the division to tier rough conversion:

• Premiership – Premiership
• High– Division 1 and Division 2
• Mid – Division 3 and Division 4
• Open – Division 5 and Division 6

Please note that the success of your request also strongly depends on the free slots in the tier you aim for. Established teams will be favoured over new teams or teams that request to jump a tier. The screenshots have to be uploaded to an online image storage service (for example, you can use imgur or Dropbox). Keep in mind that any email attachment will be ignored – keep it clean!

Also helpful for us, but not a must however, is adding who the opposing team is in each screenshot (and maybe even the division they played in the last time). That makes it easier for us, because sometimes it can be quite hard (especially in the lower tiers) to figure out who the teams in the screenshots are.

If you are applying for Open (which is our entry division), you do not have to provide any proof that you are capable of playing at that level.

Please send your application to staff@etf2l.org. The division assignment request has to include the following information in order to be considered. Incomplete applications will be ignored!

• Do not use HTML in your e-mail. If you want to add a link, just paste the link in the e-mail as you would enter it in your browser.

• Link to the online photo album
• Reasons why your team deserves to be placed in the tier you applied for (optional)

Anyone signing up after March 19th can still be seeded into the season, although this depends on teams dropping or other teams signing up.

SEASON 20 POWERED BY TT ESPORTS – WEEK 7 : LETHAL WEAPON vs ZE KNUTSSON ROLLERBLADERS

Ze Knutsson Rollerbladers have already secured their playoff spot by defeating rival contenders Se7en. So this this game comes down to pride and with these two DM heavy teams, who knows what shape the game will take. Ze Knutsson Rollerbladers are once again strengthened by scout merc nukkye who was a valuable asset to them last game.   Lethal Weapon proved a difficult foe against 1st place team SUAVE on viaduct, and now it’s time to take on the 2nd placed bk.  It could come down to whether or not the medics Zebbosai and Whiteglow can survive the onslaught of players looking to catch them off guard. Can the Russians defeat their confident neighbours?  Tune in to see koth_viaduct_pro5 and cp_badlands played as these teams square off.

SEASON 20 POWERED BY TT ESPORTS – WEEK 6: AWSOMNIAC vs E-SHOCK ESPORT

It’s France vs. France when newly responsored Awsomniac take on their countrymen of Salty Frogs on cp_sunshine_rc5 and koth_viaduct_pro5. After a win against who is? just yesterday, Salty Frogs: should be warmed up. But it’s a tough opponent they face. Especially with fl1p having merced for Salty Frogs: a couple of times he might have learned things to use to his team’s advantage. These are important points for Awsomniac: if they want to clinch the coveted last spot. With viaduct in play we might see a sniper duel between Flippy and droso . Uncork your wine and get the cheeses ready.

SEASON 20 POWERED BY TT ESPORTS – WEEK7: REASON GAMING vs LEGO

Much is on the line when these two teams prepare for battle. Se7en are out for the same playoff spot as the Frenchmen above and LEGO are doing their best to avoid relegation. Despite Se7en: struggling last week on koth_viaduct_pro5 LEGO: are still going to have to put their best foot forward to claim the win. And how will the teams fair on cp_badlands, will we see kaidus beating everyone to mid and Dr. Phil in his famous hiding spot on last again? Tune in:
