Works for me too, but doesn't work for any of my team. 

Official Steam solution is trying the old clientreg.blob trick and then deleting everything but steam.exe and the steamapps folder + restarting Steam, but that didn't fix it for me either. Seemed to work for some, might work for you.

Same solution:

Delete blob files while steam in closed (do I even need to say that?).

Or reinstall tf2 and if that doesnt work just fucking reinstall everything.]]></description>

It seems to have been fixed. It seems when you delete your damn client registry damn dotting goddamn blob file, you need to have closed down steam first. It seems I really am a massive mong.

    	    <description><![CDATA[So every time I start TF2 steam decides I need to validate the files....15 minutes later I can play.

Every night....every time I load it for the first time...ARGHHHHH!

I've deleted client blob ting and no dice, anyone know a fix?

Edit: Oh yeah, and I have waited for the pop up to appear saying it's done too.]]></description>
