I'm looking for one too, though I don't know how to actually pick a good one. Price is the main factor for me as a student :( if anyone knows something good and affordable, could I have some details please?

Well if your previous one wasn't a CRT I don't think you'll need a 120Hz one. Indeed LCD screens doesn't refresh like CRTs, but they have a latency(dont know the english word) in miliseconds. You should choose a 2ms monitor with good connectivity (DVI+HDMI).

Another important thing is the backlit which has to be uniform. You should read some web tests to get an idea, if you like to have a lot of brightness so a LED backlit should fit, but it's not necessary.

Again reading tests is the only way to know if a model is worth it as the technical sheet of a monitor means nothing(this is not the case for other components)

oh, and if you want a 24" make sure you're far enough from the screen, it's quite huge and you might have to move the head to look in corners which is pretty annoying

PS : if you have STVs i'll be happy to take them :D

Well yeah, got some money spare and my current monitor seems to be on its last legs so might as well try and get one. Just 1 problem, I've got no clue on what makes a good monitor etc. I'm looking for a 24 inch one, preferably 120hz but that's not a necessity. Aiming to spend roughly €200 on it, but I can go a bit higher if I'm convinced it's worth it.
