What's your cpu and how much fps you get? Thinking of this as my next buy.

450-750 is correct occasionally I drop to 400 at mid. I think others have seen my PC perform at LAN with a smaller overclock with some bad quality ram i had at the time, at around 350-600 fps.

(This is with Chris high frames)

So if my 4850's are on par with a 6850 THEN 6950 or 560ti should be a decent enough upgrade. I did hear something about 7000 series in november though?

Edit also what is cuda? I haven't been into components in quite a while. I generally just buy the best product for the money. I couldn't care less what sticker it has on it. Features like 3d and eyefinity are just gimics so unless its something useful?

hey sketch, this might help ya. I have not read it yet myself.

http://www.insidehw.com/Reviews/Graphics-cards/CrossFire-in-Practice-Radeon-HD-4850-CF-vs-6850.html

I'm looking at getting a 560 or maybe a ti if i can stretch to it. Just prefer nvidia for the CUDA shizz, but also gotta love the eyefinity on ATI's.

EDIT: Read it, and tbh they look pretty similar in performance crossfire seems to beat the 6850 in some games but in others the 6850 has a better minimum framerate. I'm guessing that your good fps in TF2 is mostly coming from your CPU anyway so i doubt there will be a noticeable difference although you will be saving on energy with the single card and not have the issues of crossfire! go for it.

Hey. I know there are a lot of graphics card threads. But this is slightly different as I currently have no issue with fps in tf2.

Current setup:

I5 750 @4.3 ghz
8gb ram
2 Ari 4850 in crossfire

Currently getting 450 - 750 fps but crossfire gives me a lot of issues with other games.

There is a noticeable stutter when any game runs below 200 fps.
Many games have massive issues with crossfire. Most games I buy simply do not work.

Basically I am worried that if I swap to a still 6950 or nvidia560 ti. Then I will loose overall performance. Could this happen? I don't want to commit to a purchase that will actually be worse than my current build.
