Well, the choice to go with nehalem would only really make sense if you were looking at doing quad crossfire/sli. With a single gpu I'm slightly puzzled at the choice to go for nehalem over sandy bridge. As for the question, I don't see usb3 making any difference. The primary issue with usb input for mouse use is the polling rate, which is set by the motherboard/mouse. Also if in doubt, just try it out for yourself?
