This is a very interesting observation. It never occurred to me that the text overlay updates might be causing problems for some users, but the packets for that definitely do get sent out very frequently. On any server running MGEMod 0.0.5, try typing "!hud" in chat to totally disable the text hud, and let me know if that fixes the problem for you.

Unfortunately it doesn't. Have the same problem regardless of if the mge hud is on or off.

Tried out the My Gaming Edge MGE server in NA and it follows the same pattern. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa461/linkred/my_gaming_edge_na_mge_lag.png What's interesting is, I minimized my game to save that screenshot, maximized it again to watch two sollies playing some mod missing their shots that went through the walls, and there were no usermessages and no choke for at least a graph frame. Would be nice to see a mod without these messages. I guess they are related to the mge overlay - the names, score and health.

Every time I play on the Nervous Energy MGE server my game goes completely out of whack. http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/aa461/linkred/mgefu.png Incoming frames and dropped left and right and every time someone in my proximity dies I get a massive spike. It's allmost unplayable. By the looks of it, the user messages are the culprints, but I'm not quite sure what to make of it. Does anyone else have this problem? It has been around for as long as I can remember, it was almost gone for a while, now it's worse that ever.
