I had to reinstall Steam and than all worked fine

    	    <description><![CDATA[I'm getting the following error when I try to login to steam (roughly translated); could not login to the steam network, this could be caused by your connection or the steam network
more info can be found o steampowered.com. 

So far I've tried the following things 

*turning of the firewall

*setting launch options to -tcp and -login username password.


The weird thing is that I can connect with my own laptop to steam on the same router as my friends laptop which is having the same problems (I'm using XP and he's using Win 7 64-bit home edition)


Any help would be greatly appreciated.]]></description>
