Just on a side note, I have similar problem, i.e. despite having low and consistent ping (60-65) and maximum choke of 8-10, it still looks like I was playing using a modem. That appears mostly on UK servers (I'm playing from Poland), but that's not a rule. I'm running a 6MBit broadband through Netgear router. May it be an issue of wrong routing on my ISP's side?

Well i dont have another microfilter... I remember that my pc randomly shut down and didnt start up for at least 5 minutes after a few hours of COD a while ago. I havent noticed any problems with the pc after that so i thought it was just the overheating protection, but looks like the microfilter broke at that point...

Edit: Ok so i tried a couple of things that were supposed to help me finding the problem (such as restarting my router and cleaning the fan). Just played a lobby and got between 0-8 choke most of the time, 30 at the start of the round.

Im still wondering if it's a hardware or a software problem. Looks more like a hardware problem to me, but i dont have any problems in MW2 and i get 0 choke in CS:S most of the time.

Something strange is going on here. It might be a dodgy microfilter, which would explain why it is only temperamental some of the time.

Oh, it doesn't work on Windows 7, sorry.

Try with tracert, but it won't give out the same quality of information.

Open a command prompt and enter the following (after the new line you should press enter to run the command)

cd \
tracert IP > etf2ltracert.txt (replace IP with the IP of the server)

then paste what is in c:\etf2ltracert.txt here. Don't worry if it seems to have hung, just leave it for a minute or so and you should see a new line appear eventually. Give it 2 minutes to run.

edit: also i've not noticed any mistakes with your english, so don't worry about it :D
