Thought I’d post this here. Most of those on these forums likely do not know what the CPL (CyberAthlete Professional League) is, but it does show a bit of what goes on behind the American Esports scene. My OP from another forum (mostly copy pasta):

The above link fills in what the CPL has been up to for the past 2 years. It gives an insight into the business world, and it shows how much lying can occur in esports. For those wondering what the CPL is, please see: this wikipedia article.
An except from the article at complexity gaming:
“All of this led up the the first outright lie that was propagated regarding the purchase of the CPL. There was NEVER a middle-eastern investment group from Abu Dhabi behind the purchase of the CPL. It was 100%, from beginning to end, a complete LIE, with every intention to deceive the owners of the CPL brand (at least, the other three partners were told the owners were included in this lie), the gamers, the potential investors, and the people at CGS.”

In addition, Angel Munoz himself responds at: http://www.formspring.me/angelmunoz/q/401063142 (basically verifies that the people who purchased the CPL are anonymous to him, but have been making financial payments on time).
Anyone have thoughts on this?

If you don’t know what the cpl is you need to be shot.

well it was kinda “the shit” some years ago… so yes, yes you do
If you’ve never heard of the CPL you most likely know nothing of e-Sport. But that’s perfectly fine, one might have real interests instead

If you don’t know about the NBA because you don’t like basketball, you don’t have a very broad knowledge about sports, now do you?
more like if you play basketball and you don’t know about the NFL.
cpl was dead 2-3 years ago so if you weren’t into the cs scene before then it’s perfectly understandable not to have heard about it.

basketball, what is that?
Its was the biggest thing to happen to E-SPORTS a few years back so if you haven’t heard of it you do indeed deserve to be shot.

Someone enlighten me in short what is going on with this CPL Scandal or w/e. I’m intrigued.
Can’t be bothered reading those wallatexts.
