I have a Canon EOS 450D but since all the new DSLR’s have built in 1080p/720p moviemakinskillz i would buy the EOS 500D

yep, but if i have the chance to buy the body cheap, without the kit lense i would probably buy another lense like a 22-70 with constant 1:2,8 instead of 1:4 – 1:5,6
on the other hand low focal lenght is important for most pictures, to get “all” on 1 shot…
but these lenses are really expensive… so i am happy with what i have, till i win in euro millions (you suckers)!
Edit: oh and an image stabilizer is really important… like the one from my tele.. to get sharp shots even in worse light conditions :)

The 50mm Fixbrennweite I really only use it for portraits, so here you will never get it made to face pictures!
