Anyone in the know of graphics cards? Used to know loads about them – but lost it now…

Bought an 8800GTX 2 years ago, cost me £300 – today i find out its broke for good. So looking for something else which will cost around £100? Obviously able to play tf2 at nice fps (60?) and also able to cope with photoshop…

Thanks. :)

5770?

Hmm have looked at that, but maybe the 5750 will be good enough?

About the same Fps as an 8800GTX. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/177265 Or i can sell u my old 8800GTX if u wish, been in its box for 6months maybe a year. was fine when pulled, just had more money than sense at the time i replaced it.

anything from a 4850/4870/5750/5770 is fine for tf2, iv got 2 4850s and it destroys tf2.

REAL MEN PLAY TF2 WITH A VARIABLE 20 TO 200 FPS

I have GTX275 (About 180euro nowdays i think) and it runs 200fps. Source games require alot CPU power too btw.

Have a look at http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3750&p=11 — it’s l4d, but it’s close enough to TF2 and also lists the most common resolutions, should give you a good idea.

I’m using the exact same vga for almost a year now, and have no coplaints about it. Never overheats, plays newest games on max (1280×1024 res, I’ve got a shitty monitor) and the price is great.

Wait till the end of the month and see what kinda price/performance the new Fermi cards from Nvidia are like, meant to be pretty damn good.

Otherwise, 5770, or 4890, I reckon.
