Im trying to get my sensitivity in MW2 to be the same as I use in TF2 and in CoD4 and it just doesn’t feel right…
Of course accel is off and yaw and side and all that crap is the same as cod4 and tf2.
Sensitivity:
CoD4: 1
TF2: 1.569686
MW2 is currently on 1.569686 but it feels to high but 1 feels far to low…
If anyone has any ideas please reply.
Also any programmers out there please make a program that sets your sensitivity automatically so its the same in every game.
I’d buy a program like that for… £20.

Err… cod4=tf2 in sensitivity. Atleast 0.5 is exactly the same in cod4 as it is in tf2 for me. And as far as I know this is the case, as all the q3 engine games, hl1 engine games and source engine games seem to have identical sensitivities.
E: to set up your sensitivity to be the exact same measure the distance for a 360 in tf2/cod4 and then measure the distance for a 360 in mw2. Increase or decrease sens accordingly.

cod4/mw2 sensitivity is dependant on FOV, thus every weapon, ironsight and scope has a different sensitivity because all they equal are different FOV values.
So you want the same sens in all 3 games? gl, you might be able to get the same sensitivity using a specifc weapon in each game, but as soon as you swap… gg
my advice is to take assault or smg, ironsight in and set the sensitivity there
it’ll be easier in mw2 to get a good overall sensitivity though as it’s limited to fov 65 or whatever, and when you ironsight with a pistol it goes to fov 60 (around a drop of 5 fov) whereas in cod4 they unlocked fov to 65-80, so if you changed to 80, it was only 80 when running around, when you ironsighted it went to a theoretical fov 60 (so a drop of 20 instead of 5) thus making your sensitivity a hell of a lot different. I also seem to remember the difference between deagle and ak74 when not ironsighted was about 240degrees, regardless of what fov you had set, as it scaled accordingly.

Rake, no but when you type in console “cl_showmouserate 1” it shows the TF2 sensitivity if you move your mouse and look in the console.
nVc, It seems to be the same in CoD4 as in TF2 and I used ^ that to find the sensitivity. So my tf2 sensitivity is the same as my CoD4 non-iron sighted sensitivity.
Meh this is all far to confusing, just me that thinks it would make sense if the default sensitivity was exactly your DPI :s
Tbh, I think it would be better if sensitivity was all windows / driver side rather than game side. But then people would be unhappy because they couldnt use a different sensitivity while scoping than they do while smging or what not… Argh.
EDIT: Oh and nVc, paradox-‘s config > *

Well that’s my point, you’ll find the sensitivity with a specific weapon when not in iron-sight, but as soon as you are it’s different, so stop faffing about and just get on with it :P

I wish all game devs had enough brains to make in-game sensitivity 1 actually mean one, ie “desktop sens”, or even better just raw mouse input.

:D CoD4 is fine, its just it feels waaaaaay off in mw2 but fuck it ill just set it to 1 and play. Was just wondering if there was a quick fix because like there was for COD4…
Another related question :
I have heard that you should ideally put you ingame sens to 1 (and the Windows sens to default 6/11).
At the moment I use sens 0.4 and DPI 4770. In what way is this worse than putting sens 1 and adjusting the DPI accordingly ?

Tbh i think its ment as a “as long as its under 1” because then its not wasting DPI. Whereas if its set to 4 or something its adding DPI on.
Iller, have a read through this:

It’s the field of view, and it seems higher anyway, it’s weird, I think the slider is just a scale, rather than a definite “this is your sens when using x weapon”
Personally I just adjust after about 5 mins of play, but I agree it’s annoying, would be awesome to find a way to get it the same (can you get console in mw2? I cannae see a way)
