so i record a video with source recorder, put it in sony vegas and render it as an mp4 right

then i upload it to youtube and for some reason parts of the video slow down and it gains an extra 3-10 seconds and the audio goes out of synch/ends before the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch_private?v=DqdyCwo1Zno&sharing_token=G5qoCItcNEN-CQaoIU2Rfg is an example, the video’s 15 seconds long but on youtube it slows down at 0:08 and 0:14, anyone know how to fix it?

What is the framerate of the video you uploaded? Also, is the file you uploaded fine when you watch it back on your own PC?

i think it’s 29.70, and it plays back fine on the pc (length is 15 seconds instead of 18)

Can you make sure its definately 29.70? Youtube doesn’t like non-integer framerates. I.E. make sure you use EXACTLY 30fps, not 29.70.

Record clips with pldx config (must be avi) -> render in vegas as uncompressed -> render in h264 with Megui or whatever

hmm… let me explain this.

Container ( Encoded Video | Encoded Audio | Extra Info )

The Encoded video can be any format in a .avi file. There is no reason you couldn’t make an h.264 encoded AVI file, so really, the container makes no difference to quality. However most containers are locked to only allow 1 type of encoded video (i.e. .xvid, .mkv, etc,,) and a very small set of Audio formats. Extra information is stuff like subtitles, etc,,,

So in short, the container doesn’t matter. Only the settings you use for encoding.
