Help sound issue!

just updated to sp1 vista and i got this stupid sound mixer thing now.
every time someone talks in mumble the volume of games and music etc goes down to half and its pissing me off sooooo much!
how do i fix this plz. google is not coming up trumps
with win7 i had to go to Control Panel/Sounds/Communications and tick “Do nothing”
but don’t know if it works under vista

Settings–>Audio Output –>Other Applications–>100%
Not sure if it’s that.
I’ve had the same problem but I can’t remember how I fixed it.
The two above, or you can right click the sound icon bottom right, playback devices, communications tab, same thing
