If you wanna go down that route, also might be worth noting that the 4890 is for all intents and purposes, merely an overclocked 4870. The performance difference is marginal and virtually non-existant if you overclock the 4870. Save about £40-50 that way.
ok, anyone seen how much u can oc 5000 series card? with the right hands u can do as much as 15-20fps improvement

No difference, apart from the fact that at this moment ATI is simple dominating with their current lineup. Just like nVidia was with the 8x00 series.

5850 is the best card u can get for that price, simple as :)

It has about the same performance as the gtx285, less heat, less power consumption, new tech, etc.. i would get that

If u want to save some money, go for the 4890, it has better performance than 5770, and before ppl start saying that it 5xxx has dx11, 57xx will have like <30fps running dx11 games, so its not worth to buy it when u can get one better

Well they are 2 vastly different cards. :)

tbh, with a system like that and that amount of money to spend, I have to +1 a 5850. That on Tapley linked is about the cheapest ive seen where its currently in stock so go for it. ;)

To be fair, ATI and Nvidia don't have much of a difference between them at the moment, ATI have DX11 and better performance, but otherwise no.

Get a GTX 275, or wait until Nvidia release their DX11 stuff if you want to go Nvidia

I personally would wait, because Nvidia have got the whole 3D gaming thing built in (which there is a slim chance you -might- use), and are working on integrating AI processing like they did with PhysX, just.. not pointless and unused by all the devs.
