It certainly set standards- but in the meantime plenty of games massively built and expanded upon those standards, so imo all CS has going now is that it’s the most basic, generic “realistic” shooter out there. Not necessarily a bad thing but been there done that etc….I guess I used “generic” as a synonym for “genre-typical” there.

neotokyo was pretty fun… for 3 days.
there was some cool shit in the competitive modes but i only played like 5 pickups before raging cos the support class was so fucking imba

warsow is bloody hard. been playing it today. probs gonna give up. jumps are hard if you dont play much quake or ut. i did notice that most players are too busy jumping to be able to hit anything. so just get out your rail gun. perch in a corner and its all good
clan arena i found the hardest
