Saiboat there are ways to work around this ;)

The game seems promising, but I’ll wait till I get my new hardware this weekend.

AnimaL

fallout 3 episode 2 with laggy multiplayer and cartoon graphics

(too bad i need to turn off shadows to get stable good fps, but it still looks fun)

edit: who wants to co-op… pm meh on steam :]]

tried it out a lil bit, mabe 5 mins. felt really well optimised, running it lagfree on a i5 750 stock with a gtx260 with maxed out graphics. dunno if theres gonna be some more hardware heavy content in the game later on in the game but its probably gonna be awesome.

really looking forward to playing it fully with coop add me on steam if someone wants to play etc (the sniper felt great :D)

After an hour of 2man coop and a few more hours of singleplayer:

+++
Takes you right back to the diablo grind of finding that epic fireshotgun (which shoots rockets) and gain 1 more skillpoint – just in fps (or in “car”)
Lots of fun simple quests for xp and/or gear (think mmo)
Coop online works almost flawlessly (use gamespy with friendlists, simple and easy, dunno bout steam friends), random dropping in and out of games, taking
quests together, sharing xp etc.
Runs accetable on my old laptop with everything on low (c2d 2.0, 8600M GT)
Always duel option if someone bitchtalk too much

Ingame voice sucks, no push-to-talk, voice either on (mic always active) or disabled, and no chat history = vent/mumble needed for fun co-op.
The grind gameplay IS repetitive, no huge storyline or great voiced quests, mostly chat and kill x get y.
Controls is abit awaked at times, like you have to use keyboard to scroll certain places, and car control is by mouse, havent found a place to change that without messing up foot controls.

In short; I was hyped, and it mostly lives up to it so far. Theres lots of rooms for improvement (and expansions) but Gearbox has promised to follow this game up as much as possible. Can only hope.

Add me on steam if you’re up for some co-op. Or maybe we should make an irc chan?

Considering to actually buy this. It has the elements I like, but I’m just wondering how’s it put together. Playing coop is most likely going to be loads of fun, and it makes me think is it gonna be any worth playing it alone.

Why is there a default on auto-aim function in a game that hardly requires aim in the first place?

I don’t get why borderlands is being marketed as a “shooter with RPG elements”. It’s clearly just a RPG with guns and a 3d interface.

So that people with absolutely no aim can aim, not just the people that have almost no aim.

youre saying that headshots and the ability to quickly dispatch bunches of enemies is not much relevant?
is the fighting similiar to fallout 3?

fighting – no, everything else – yes

got old after 5-6hrs of gameplay, too many bugs, and rly dumb system for co-op

Got it for my xbox the other day, and have had a blast with splitscreen coop!

Dont really get why people whine about the aim. Take the game for what it is. A mix of diablo loot, COD4 controls and Fallout 3 setting.

Aiming is not the key to any of these games, except COD for PC.

Donno bout the pc-version, but the controls are working rather smoothly.

No cheat protection, there are XP/skillpoints hackers that can make games real boring because they’ll own everything. Who won’t get banned.

Never play co-op with randoms, the drop system is always free for all, so any1 can ninja the items and then leave the game. If you’re playing co-op with randoms and some1 want to go to an instance, you are all forced to go to that instance, so it can stall games if that 1 guy want to do instance and you want to do something else.

Beserker will win any pvp fight, he’ll pop the fists ability (he gets speed boost, resistance, hp regen) and you’ll get pawnt.

Annoying to do big quests alone because of pretty stupid respawn times on mobs. I worked through a camp to get to the boss and I had to clear that place 3 times. 1 on the way in and 2 on the way out.

Still pretty fun to play tho. But i hate playing co-op with ppl i dont know.
