Be*

-If you do get a problem make sure its not you... Every problem I have had with Be* has been a problem on my side not on theirs...

For example being on the wrong DNS or something... They aren't exactly the best at telling you when they change these things (>_>) but still a good ISP, no complaints tbh :)

All those issues seem to be localised to the north of england and the south of scotland, has anyone used BE that live in the south/southwest and had issues?

The over used DSLAM in exchanges is why im leaving Virgin Media, I don't really want to sign up to another ISP with the same issue ;)

You don't get adsl direct from them, you'll need a reseller:

Yeah, Crink from Mafia is with Be There and he's had internet problems recently. From what I know, they were basically over-subscribed and, as KOVACS said, couldn't deal with it, so everyone suffered from slow internet. It's now back to normal, and I think he's fairly happy with them, but for a few weeks his ping would go 100+ at peak times.

Probably because they got massively oversubscribed over the christmas period and dont have the backend to support it.

Contention ratios seem to be rediculous at peak times. A lot of people in a lot of areas using Be* including myself are experiencing very slow internet speed and high ping at the moment: http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=9730&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=7032a92e7f9646ac7f102a765b084456

Until recently though Be* was amazing. They are trying to fix the issue apparently but will take them weeks or longer.

I have always been with Virginmedia/Ntl/Telewest where ever I have lived. Never had a big issue, however I have worked for their customer service/faults teams and tbh some things are more important than others too them and I have heard many a story about unreliability and issues not being a priority when they should be. Guess it depends on how lucky you are and where you live.
However I have also heard others from disatisfied customers that only their internet is any good rofl the rest is shit :D

Can anyone from the UK recommend a good stable ISP please. At the moment i am sharing with my brother and it is a load of doo doo! I will get random lag spikes all the time, the internet will disconnect for about 1-3 minutes then suddenly work again. It's no good when playing officials as well cutting out at some of the most important parts in the game... My current ISP is Sky TV. I just want a stable net connection that doesn't cost over the odds and is reliable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
