I'm working for one of the ISP's, and it's pretty hilarious to see the reactions from both ISP's.

Basically, this lawsuit was a ruse, ISP's are trying to find ways to stop customers from impacting their network as much as possible.
The ISP I work for has recently introduced a rule where only 20% of each subnetwork can be used for F2P, once that 20% is reached and more people start using F2P, your speed will decrease gradually per user using F2P as well, not only on your F2P ports, but also on all uncommon ports you will be using. So basically, they’re screwing you over twice.

With this thing being settled now, they get what they want, because they will send a signal “We can’t help it lulz” while gladly cooperating in blocking as many piracy means as possible, to not have to provide what people are paying for. Once this press article was released, I received an e-mail in which people we euphoric about this decision.

Of course other countries will follow, and it won’t be thepiratebay only, this is where it starts. Before you know it, we’ll be paying as much as we do for “unlimited” use of internet, but the ways in which you can use will be restricted to certain activities.

So because this isn't the most "pressing freedom" denied, "who cares, good riddance"? I understand that all the self-proclaimed tech gurus want to take every opportunity to bash stuff, but as I said, you're missing the point if that's your main focus in this case.
