Got the razer megalo..something. Before that I had a speedlink medusa..something. Can't say surround really works on a headset - the best it gets to is changing volume of w/e is behind or in front but it doesn't feel like the rear speakers are actually behind you. If that makes any sense.

Medusa is shit. I say stick to your stereos. Sound quality is always much better and I didn't feel like the surround headsets provided any additional benefit.

Currently using Roccat Kaves and the sound is decent. A surround sound demonstration disk is provided with the headset allowing you experience the technology. This seems exaggerated because the 5.1 effect seems reduced in games but you'll notice it still.

Only downside I found is that the headset is rather heavy and clunky

All sound still goes into a small ear canal though :p

I'm sure someone else can explain this much better, but a good surround headset with 2 speakers can give equal positional audio as well as much better sound quality.

I got a Sennheiser PC350 which is awesome and has surround (afaik). Was perfect at LAN, at home and anywhere else for that matter. Don't know which Sennheiser you got right now - but as Racio said, any sort of proper headphones _should_ have surround.

(don't forget to change the audio tab in-game to "headphones" instead of stereo, else it won't work i think)
Yeah, those sennheisers are awesome :)

For some reason I get the best results if I put ingame to 5.1. Could be my audio card, but it works :p

Hello,

I have some sweet Sennheiser stereo phones. I really love those, great sound, no irritation or pain or bleeding when wearing them for hours. Allround awesomeness.

The only thing I miss is good surround sound sometimes. And my heart jumped for joy when I saw that you can buy surround headphones. Does anyone have experience with these? Few questions:

Is the surround sound any good? Do you really! hear left/right/front/back?
Is the headphone confortable? Im used to sennheisers
Any brand you can recommend me?

Money no problem, just want the good stuff :)
