Rewritten, due to having more time: I cant remember what folder its in, but there is a steam_api.txt file, for games such as l4d, l4d2, alien swarm etc. These contain three digit numbers telling steam what game to say it is playing. Someone guessed portal 2's number. This is better than launching a renamed exe, as it doesnt say its in "non-steam game". 1. Find the steam_api.txt file for a game, change the number to 659 2. Launch the game from the exe, not steam. 3. Childishly tell people you have portal 2 beta. 4. Stop caring, play tf2 (skip to this step for instant tf2)
