Good luck getting anything repaired under warranty through apple :D And if it's not under warranty you can expect to pay out your ass for "Apple repair". Better off finding an iDevice repair center.

There are a few options: 1) You can buy a replacement screen and try to repair the ipod yourself. The lowest price I could find was about $30, in dealextreme.com (you will need both the LCD screen and screen digitizer glass). Tutorials on how to change the screen can be found on youtube. I have tried this method but failed miserably and damaged the parts. It was still fun to try :) . 2) You can try bringing it to your local underground iDevice repair service.
