Been using a deathadder on a goliathus for over a year now. Works like a dream at the start, feels so clean. However soon the goliathus' cloth starts to wear at the deathadder's pads and they wear out very quickly. Your issue is not caused by the mousemat it's the soft teflon mouse feet that Razer use throughout their range of mice. Softer teflon makes for a better glide but it's a marginal difference. Probably no difference, but occasionally patterned ones have caused tracking issues in the past for me, different mice to the 3G mind. As for washing it, put it underwater and rub the crap off of it. Then let it dry for a day.
