Rock is way too broad of a definition to have this thread make any sense. I like lots of styles of rock, but when I think of ROCK in general, the last thing I want to hear is some cheesy anthem/arena overproduced slick shit. Even the harder/heavier subgenres of rock sound overproduced nowadays. I miss the grit in most contemporary rock.
If your going this route, the original definition of rock music is the same as pop music.
