In all seriousness though, I agree with Skyride and Chris, you need to spend a good while looking into how to go about it, deciding if the performance boost is even worth it, doing it safely...

With your processor, you're not going to see a huge boost in performance by doing it, no point for a good few years

it takes a while to get a decent stable overclock & its a very boring process, finding your max overclock at stock voltages then increasing volts as you lose stability to regain it, don't do it with stock cooling, most times you will find you max over clock isn't the most desirable choice..

I have a q6600 good for 3.7ghz on each core but the volts required to get to 3.7ghz stable are excessive, generate at lot more heat & is the very edge of stability compared to an easy clock to 3.4ghz & which hardly requires any of the voltages being bumped up, the same goes for my e8400 rig which can go to 4.5ghz but the sweet spot is @4ghz..

go read some overclocking threads based on your motherboard if you that keen to get into overclocking..
note some motherboards just don't work nicely with overclocking & you are lowering the lifespan of your kit by overlclocking

You're missing the point. Every CPU is slightly different, the stock values are just known safe values assuming it was produced within the specified tolerances. However in practice pretty much all of them will be slightly better than the tolerances, so they are capable of handling higher clock speeds and energy's.

i know very well what im doing to my pc, wanted to see if overvoltage(not rly, cuz at 1.53 i had idle 1.48, load 1.42) would make impact on how much i can clock it since im stuck at 3.4ghz and seems its just my cpu thats at its max capability...

the q6600 can do up to 1.5V safe, and some geeks done even 1.7V with it... id never go so high since i dont actually want to cook it plus now i know that my cpu already is at its highest possible clock -3.4ghz @ 1.49V @ 18hrs prime95 stable, max temp 63C... gg

Because you're already exceeding what its designed to do. Its not that simple, I know you think you know how it works because you read up about new PC parts, but you really have no idea. The only reason I even understand it is because I have a fairly basic knowledge of EE.

Well not really. My point is that he literally doesn't even know what difference overclocking will make. He's just vaguely heard of it somewhere and was politely asking if it was worth doing, to which I've politely replied "nah, not really". Fiddling with highly sensitive electronics worth hundreds of pounds/euros when you don't have any clue what you're doing isn't a very good idea.

There is a lot of ways to learn things that don't involve asking on a forum.
