I initially put a six year old graphics card in my new i5 build in june at a price of ~€500 and got 100 stabil fps, and I payed more than necessary to get quality parts with good warrenty. A new graphics card for €300 got it up to 200 stabil fps. Not sure about laptops, this was a stationary build, but considering this I find it hard to believe you wouldn't get half of the fps i got for €500 stationary back then, with a €800 laptop.

THe problem is that laptops just aren't built for gaming. Laptops are generally more expensive for their power, because everything has to be made a smaller and lighter, which invariably is more expensive. So for a 'good' gaming latop, you'd need to pay quite a lot compared to a pc with the same specs.

It's hard to link to any good laptops without testing them, this one looks good & cheap on paper, but might be shit

core i5 with radeon 5650 would be better
as u said, no L3 cache, so only ones that would stand close to i5 would be high clock ones - AMD Phenom II X2 N620 2.8ghz

u wont get decent fps on 4250 - http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Radeon-HD-4250.29664.0.html

1500 3dmarks vs 4000 marks with 4570/5470 (barely runs tf2 at 60fps mids on 1024x768)

edit: what about this? http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=ECE2082210#spec 2.2 dual core and ati mobility radeon HD 4250

2nd edit: http://www.elara.ie/products/detailsfullat.asp?productcode=ECE2058284#spec this one looks good triple core 2.1ghz so if it uses 2 cores at 2.1 ghz and te vid card is ati radeon 5470
if u want decent fps - phenom II x2(two cores - 2.8ghz and up) or core i5 (any, all of em also have two cores) or i7 with two core setup (expensive)

the one u showed is worse than previous and since its sony, the cooling will be shite aswell, those aint gaming laptops... not to mention gpu isnt even for gaming

and yes, athlons should be avoided, same with core 2 duo's, they are outdated
