I'm probably lucky when it comes to gaming. I've been a casual gamer since I was about 5. My parents are also gamers, although they play the same games over and over again. (tetris)

Funny thing is that it's ok for me to buy games, but not books about programming, even though they say I play too much.

Now, enough of my life story. I'd say you should just do what your dad says a few times, then knock back with some tf2 allnighter. I bet he won't mind.

Because I spent years just spending time learning about computers (forums, programming, etc), It was a little easier for me, but I'm sure if I had been into games at an earlier age (I got TF2 on my 15th birthday, I'm now 17), it would have kicked up.

What i'd say is this, do you actually enjoy football? If you don't, you need to let your dad know. I had the same experience with my dad (although golf being the sport in question) and I bassically sat him down, spoke to him, and told him I just didn't enjoy it. He was pretty dissapointed and I did feel pretty bad about it, but in the long run it was definately for the better.

However if that is the case, don't just end up sitting at your PC every single night playing TF2. Thats pretty much what I did (and as much as they'd like to up their hard-guy super-cool image, thats pretty much the case with most people here), and I just so regret it. Theres hundreds of more interesting things I could have done with the time and over the last few months, I've just really come to realise it and do something about it. Just don't sit at your PC every night, playing a game you hate going over every mistake just to make sure you win... like GibbZ. :D

Balls in your side of the park, do what you think is best and not whats expected of you. ;)

cheers m8, though im really good at football and i dont want to brag, but i guess i am. I just cant find football fun anymore, its just to much. i've had this talk with my dad like 3 times but he just gets angry and starts yelling at me.. And just because i play computer games aswell he thinks thats the reason why i wanna quit.. its just useless to struggle against him, either he gets really dissapointed or just really pissed...
everyone i know says that i cant stop playing football because of my talent but i cant see why not when im not enjoying it.. its messed up :(

1. this is what dads do. i had a good 6/7 years of it. computers are the devil
my advice is dont play on the pc like he says...or dont tell him your ill say you have sprained your ankle :D (btw that will have 0% chance of working. sitting on chairs is bad for your ankle probably.)

2. dont quit football to play games.

3. how does a headache stop you playing football? but let you play computer games? it makes no sense. have a glass of water the fresh air will do you good.

4. shouldn't you be watching the world cup with your dad?
