Was thinking about this randomly. Why not just add a filter bar to top of recruiting forum, like a couple of inconspicuous drop down menu boxes at the top so all posts can remain in same forum but can be filtered according to preference?

e.g. "Skill:" Low- up to High+ or easier, Low up to High so any tag including "Low" would be included, e.g. [Low-] [Low] [Low+]
e.g. "Class:" Obvious...cba typing them

So long as people stick to the correct method for topic surely it wouldn't be that hard to code.

e.g. [High][Soldier] in topic would show up if filtered for High skill and Soldier. Add in extra code so for example [Sol] or [Demo] instead of [Soldier] or [Demoman] would also work.

With the rate of recruitment threads separete subforums would result in a lot of dead threads on the first page for at least some classes, and it’s not needed. +1

If this gets done though, add a multiclass forum for those advertising as several classes. Doesn't make sense the way illii described it if you play multiple classes as your topic will only show up as [Soldier] in the soldier forum and [Scout] in the scout forum for example.

This way teams can't see from topic title whether or not the player can play multiple classes, which is something many teams look for when taking on a player.

Well, no. The different sections wouldn't affect the topic titles. It only places the topic in the correct sections. Topic titles can say whatever, like [Soldier/Medic] or [Allrounder].

And tbh, I dont think "dead threads" would be a problem. Since most people looking for a clan don't find one the first weeks or so. Some go months without finding a clan. Depending on who it is ofc. So why should their threads not be shown?
The ones that are "dead" or in other words, people have found a clan and have no use for it, should be locked or deleted.

i agree, the amount of low skilled ppl without a clan that made a thread is massive, its kinda silly seein ppl bumping their thread every 15 hours.

Well no, not necessary. But atm the recruitment section is pretty messy. Not just the topic names, but the fact that people bump threads every few hours to keep them on the first page. This causing alot of spam. A thread without a bump in 1-2 days = a dead thread really.

Sections would keep things clean, giving a simple overview of the players in the different classes. Less spam, and also less people getting "lost in the crowd".

But again, not a necessity, just an way of tidying things up.

Edit: Harsher moderation would require less lazy admins :P good luck with that

Not a necessity. Enforce harsher moderation to ensure a clean recruitmentforum. Delete threads with untidy titles (not rename, delete, it will make sure people don't get lazy) and it will be very easy to navigate. With the rate of recruitment threads separate subforums would result in a lot of dead threads on the first page for at least some classes, and it's not needed. But then, what if a clan is looking for one guy to play sol and demo. They have to find 2 corresponding posts from the same person? and even if they're linked in the thread itself, they still have to look inside the thread, which kind of defeats the point of making it "easier" by adding more sections :E
