You are right, we usually gave teams notice at least a week in advance. Sometimes we only gave them 3 or 4 days. I don't understand why you would have to prepare for a fun cup though, either your team is playing that day or not - knowing about it three days earlier will surely not make much of a difference?
It's not about preparing as a team, it's more about people being around that day. for instance I already told people I was gonna go out that day, while if I knew that beforehand I could have done that on another day etc.. As said before, the 26th is too close by to have enough teams ready by then, plus people who actually have other stuff to do need to know this beforehand.. It's a shame because this is the 2nd cup in this month that I and thus my team miss out on because it's announced like 4 days beforehand.
